The leather care work of the washing and dyeing committee is progressing steadily

Since the establishment of the Leather Care Professional Office by the Self-Washing and Dyeing Professional Committee, according to the 2011 seven key work plans, the work in the first quarter has been quite fruitful:
1. Initiated the compilation of the "Leather Care Worker" textbook
Entrusted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Washing and Dyeing Professional Committee organized the compilation of the "Leather Care Worker Training Manual." The Leather Care Office formed a compilation committee consisting of Wang Shuyuan, Pan Wei, Wang Houzeng, Jia Runze, Xin Yubo, Ren Shucheng, Yu Jinshan, Xu Fajiang, and others. On January 11, 2011, a "Leather Care Worker Standard Textbook Compilation Kick-off Meeting" was held in Beijing. At the meeting, the committee members discussed the national occupational standards for leather care workers with colleagues from the Standards Department of the Vocational Skills Appraisal Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and received guidance on compilation format and standard requirements. Following the national process of "setting standards - writing outlines - compiling manuals - creating question banks," the work has now reached the "writing outlines" stage.
At the same time, with the approval of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the leather care worker occupation has been included as a unique occupation in the commercial industry. In the future, training and occupational appraisal activities for leather care workers will become an important part of our work.
2. Organized national skill assessor training for leather care workers
Based on self-recommendations and recommendations from enterprises, selecting personnel with strong professionalism and rich industry experience in the leather field, a "National Skill Assessor Training Class for Leather Care Workers" was held in Suzhou on March 23 and 24 to form an assessment team for the leather care profession. At the same time, plans were made to build a training faculty team and establish a faculty system to prepare and lay the foundation for the next step of "Leather Care Worker" training and assessment work.
3. Launched the "China Leather Care" website
The website modification details have been completed and delivered for use, currently under debugging, and the website backend management training has been completed. Subsequently, the advantages of the deputy director unit will be fully leveraged and the website will be managed in sections, making full use of network resources to link enterprises, achieve information sharing and resource sharing, integrate resources on the website platform, utilize policy guidance, exercise leadership, exert network influence, and maximize promotion.
4. Organization and preparation of the national washing and dyeing industry vocational skills competition leather specialty project
The "National Washing and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition" held in Beijing in August 2011 is a national level category II competition and an authoritative vocational skills competition in the washing and dyeing industry. In this competition, the leather specialty set up two competition items: "Leather Garment Maintenance" and "Leather Goods Care," and participated in local concurrent competitions. Preparations are actively underway.
5. Started formulating leather care industry standards
Since the establishment of the new occupation of leather care worker, in order to maintain the relevant order of the leather care industry and promote the long-term, stable, and orderly development of the industry, and to fully play the role of the leather care worker occupation, we are currently working with relevant units to leverage their respective advantages and strengths to draft "Leather Care Professional Terminology," "Quality Requirements for Casual Shoe Cleaning and Care," "Quality Requirements for Genuine Leather Sofa Cleaning and Care," "Quality Requirements for Aniline Leather Garment Cleaning and Care," etc. After integration, these are planned to be submitted and formulated as industry standards.
6. Held leather technology exchange demonstration meetings
It is preliminarily scheduled to hold the most influential and market-leading "Luxury Leather Products Technology Exchange Conference" in Shanghai in late May to strengthen technical exchange and communication in the national leather care profession.
7. Prepared to carry out "Leather Care Worker" training and assessment work
Through the training of leather care worker assessors, building a training faculty team, establishing a faculty system, and improving the training process, the training work will be undertaken. It has been agreed with the Chamber of Commerce Vocational Skills Center to plan the assessment and issuance of the first batch of national "Leather Care Worker" professional certificates in the second half of this year.
The work of the Leather Care Office is just the beginning. In the future, the office will adhere to the Washing and Dyeing Committee's role as a bridge and link, carry forward and connect, organize, coordinate, guide, and implement national regulations and standards related to the leather care profession, compile vocational training materials, carry out technical exchanges, industry cooperation, and vocational competitions in the leather care profession, and comprehensively promote work to advance the healthy development of the industry.
