On March 23, 2011, the nation's first training class for leather care assessors was successfully held in Suzhou with the strong support of the Suzhou Laundry Industry Association. More than one hundred trainees from laundry and dyeing industries across the country participated in the training. Liu Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China General Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Vocational Skills Appraisal Center; Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry Professional Committee; Wang Houzeng, Executive Deputy Director; Vice Directors of the Laundry Professional Committee: Wang Xueran, President of Beijing Laundry Industry Association; Ren Fengmei, Secretary-General of Shanghai Laundry Industry Association; Chen Qijun, President of Tianjin Laundry Industry Association; Lin Jun, General Manager of Shanghai Kabo Laundry Co., Ltd.; Li Jinxuan, President of Shanghai Green Ring Laundry Co., Ltd.; Dai Jie, President of Shanghai Laundry Industry Association; Zhao Longqing, President of Hebei Laundry Industry Association; Xia Xiaoyun, Secretary-General of Nanjing Laundry Industry Association; Chen Changzeng, President of Changchun Laundry Industry Association; and Cao Dongning, Vice President of Ningxia Laundry Industry Association, all participated in this training.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Yong and Director Dong Xiaonan of the Vocational Skills Appraisal Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security respectively delivered speeches on the importance of the leather care assessor training work.
In his speech, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Yong said: "As the first new occupation unique to the commercial industry approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, leather care workers have broad development prospects. Therefore, it is especially important to establish a high-level and high-quality team of leather care assessors."
Trainees who pass the exam on the 24th will be issued leather care assessor certificates uniformly by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
