Dalian Hosts the First Leather Care Knowledge Competition

At 9 a.m. on July 5th, the first Leather Care Knowledge Competition in Dalian was grandly held at Dalian Dama Laundry Company.
This competition was hosted by the Dalian Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association, organized by Dalian Dama Laundry Co., Ltd., Dalian Xianfang Shoe Materials Co., Ltd., and Dalian Stark Leather Care Center, and co-organized by Dalian Jiezhobao Leather Care Center, Dalian Leather Craftsman Family Shoe Beauty Bar, Dalian Yao's Leather Beauty and Repair Shop, attracting the attention and active participation of leather care practitioners. A total of 30 contestants from 30 different units representing Dalian, Shenyang, Yantai, Weihai, and other places participated in the competition.
The Leather Care Knowledge Competition consists of three parts: theoretical exam, front desk receiving work, and practical operation. The practical operation is divided into two aspects: leather bag care and leather shoe care. The leather bag care assessment includes stain removal and cleaning of leather bags, and color restoration after normal wear and fading. The leather shoe care assessment tests contestants' abilities in repairing colored grain leather damage, color restoration, color fixing, and comprehensive maintenance.
The competition scoring is based on 20% for theoretical results and 80% for practical operation. Eight winners were selected: First Prize Wang Suozhi, Second Prize Yang Zhijun, Third Prize Song Shufang, and five others—Gao Guochen, Zeng Guang, He Fugeng, Yan Shoufeng, Liu Bin—were awarded the title of "Leather Care Skills Expert." The award ceremony will be held on July 11th, the Laundry Festival day.

After the competition, the judges gave comments on the contestants' operations and results. Master Yao Xinying from Yao's Leather Beauty and Repair Shop and Master Zhang Jun from Stark Leather Care Center explained the operation methods and technical requirements for leather shoes and leather bags respectively.
This competition was held to implement the deployment of the China Laundry Professional Committee on leather care work. As a new national occupation, leather care workers have new requirements for standardized management and further establishment of evaluation and training mechanisms. The Dalian Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association, considering the professional standardization of leather care, stimulates industry personnel's enthusiasm through competition activities and understands their needs and development levels through communication. "Open communication, broad exchange, and promoting growth"—this environment drives the industry's development.
Nowadays, with the improvement of people's consumption levels, China has also become a major consumer of luxury goods. The maintenance of luxury goods and other leather products is increasingly becoming the future trend of the leather care industry, thus raising higher requirements for industry personnel. The Dalian Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association will also consider industry development trends and personnel needs, gradually guiding the industry forward, cultivating more professional leather care personnel, improving the overall level of Dalian's leather care industry, and providing consumers with higher quality leather care services.
