On November 3, 2011, the first National Laundry Industry Association Secretaries-General Joint Working Meeting was held at the Bohai Pearl Hotel in Dalian. More than thirty presidents (vice presidents), secretaries-general responsible for the daily work of associations, and representatives of key enterprises from provinces, cities, and autonomous regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shenyang, Hebei, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Henan, Guangdong, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Ningxia, Hangzhou, Dalian, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Jinan, and Xi'an attended the meeting. Liang Zhaoshan, researcher from the Department of Service Trade and Commercial Service Industry of the Ministry of Commerce; Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce; Xu Manli, President of the Dalian Laundry Industry Association; and Wang Jidong, Secretary-General, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wang Houzeng, Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce.
On the morning of the 3rd, the meeting began with a warm welcome speech by Wang Jidong, Secretary-General of the Dalian Laundry Industry Association. He first expressed gratitude to the Laundry Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce for entrusting the Dalian Association to host this important event, welcomed the leaders of laundry industry associations from across the country, and hoped the meeting would strengthen communication with associations nationwide and contribute more good and practical work for the industry. Subsequently, Liang Zhaoshan, researcher from the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech, fully affirming the timeliness and necessity of this meeting. He also provided a detailed explanation of the Ministry of Commerce's guiding principles for the laundry industry. He emphasized that the first National Laundry Industry Association Secretaries-General Joint Working Meeting is a grand event for our laundry industry and holds milestone significance for the development of laundry industry associations; it is important for promoting and achieving the "Twelfth Five-Year" development goals and main tasks of the laundry industry, strengthening the industry's infrastructure, improving the legal and regulatory system and statistical system, enhancing industry management, and safeguarding the development of the laundry industry.
At the meeting, Secretary-General Pan Wei reported on the relevant spirit of the Ministry of Commerce's laundry industry management and the key points of the Laundry Committee's work in 2012. In 2012, the Laundry Committee will focus on industry information statistics, standardization work, technical exchange activities, compilation of national occupational standard textbooks, research on well-known brands, and organizing laundry industry exhibitions. Secretary-General Pan Wei said that as a non-governmental functional department, the association's work is not easy. The smooth progress of these tasks depends heavily on the strong support of local industry associations and laundry enterprises, as well as the strong support of national administrative departments. This time, the Ministry of Commerce authorized the Laundry Committee to lead the national laundry industry statistical survey work, which is a trust and support for the industry association organization. We will complete this work with high quality through everyone's joint efforts and cooperation.
Laundry service disputes have always been a focus of concern for laundry enterprises and consumers, and how to resolve disputes has become a key focus. During the morning meeting on the 3rd, participants spoke freely about the "National Laundry Service Dispute Resolution Measures (Draft for Discussion)," exchanging views on the causes of disputes, common problems encountered during handling, and experiences in mediation. There was also a lively discussion on the compensation amounts and scope after accidents.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, the meeting discussed the "Laundry Service Quality Appraisal Work Procedures (Draft for Discussion)," the "Industry Information Statistics Implementation Plan," and related mechanisms of the "National Laundry Industry Association Secretaries-General Joint Meeting."
The "Laundry Service Quality Appraisal Work Procedures (Draft for Discussion)" is an important procedure for the preparatory establishment of the National Laundry Service Quality Appraisal Center. It mainly standardizes the appraisal workflow for accident clothing after laundry accident disputes and determines appraisal methods. At the meeting, presidents and secretaries-general from various places unanimously affirmed the necessity of establishing an accident appraisal center and discussed methods to ensure the appraisal work is fair, just, and credible. They also had in-depth exchanges on the experiences of appraisal work in various places.
The "Industry Information Statistics Implementation Plan" for the laundry industry was also one of the topics discussed at the meeting. The presidents and secretaries-general exchanged views on improving the laundry industry's influence in relevant national departments through industry information statistics work, as well as the difficulties encountered by industry associations during statistics collection and solutions.
The "National Laundry Industry Association Secretaries-General Joint Meeting" was held for the first time. The meeting format enhanced communication and exchange among presidents and secretaries-general of laundry industry associations nationwide, and also allowed full discussion of some common industry concerns. When discussing related mechanisms of the symposium, everyone expressed hope that such meetings could be held annually to promote full communication among association workers.
During the meeting, a visit was arranged to the locally well-known laundry enterprise "Dalian Dama Laundry Co., Ltd.," one of the "Top Ten Laundry Enterprises Nationwide." They received a warm reception, and everyone expressed that they benefited greatly.
On the evening of the 3rd, a networking banquet was held where all participants gathered joyfully, raised their glasses in good wishes, sang and danced. Many leaders performed impromptu programs on site, and the group dance involving everyone pushed the atmosphere to a climax, creating a harmonious and joyful scene. The meeting also arranged other exchange and sightseeing activities.
