On the morning of August 4, 2011, the grand opening ceremony of the 7th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition was held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.
Leaders from the Ministry of Commerce, China General Chamber of Commerce, Beijing Municipal Commerce Commission, and other relevant departments, deputy directors of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, leaders of local associations and well-known enterprises, and renowned experts attended the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce. He first gave a brief introduction to the competition. At the ceremony, honorary naming awards were presented to the sponsors of this competition. Then, representatives of the judges and participants gave speeches respectively.
Wan Lianpo, Deputy Director of the Service Trade and Commercial Service Department of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said: The laundry and dyeing industry is an important part of the commercial service industry, a vital livelihood service industry that benefits, facilitates, and serves the people. The laundry and dyeing industry is an important force in expanding consumption, absorbing employment, improving the quality of life of the people, and promoting economic development and social harmony. It is hoped that this competition will showcase skills, style, and a good image of the laundry and dyeing industry.
Finally, Director Wang Shuyuan announced the start of the competition.
After the opening ceremony, the various competition events officially began. This competition had 142 participants from provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Sichuan, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, and Xinjiang. The competition included six events: the "Yilu Wang Cup" Front Desk Service Skills Competition; the "Elephant King Cup" Stain Removal Skills Competition; the "Phiniss Cup" Leather Care Skills Competition; the "Hanhuang Cup" Leather Goods Maintenance Skills Competition; the "Funaite Cup" Garment Ironing Skills Competition; and the "Zhengzhang Cup" Clothing Mending Skills Competition. All six events were assessed mainly through practical operation, supplemented by theoretical knowledge tests.
