On July 23, the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee accepted an interview from the CCTV News Center, answering questions related to the washing of public textiles that concern society. Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and Secretary-General of the National Laundry and Dyeing Standards Committee, and Guo Jidong, Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, Chinese laundry industry expert, and Chairman of Beijing Riguang Fine (Group) Company, were interviewed by reporters. They respectively introduced the existing standards and regulations in China's public textile washing field, problems in business management, difficulties encountered in regulating laundry operations, and the harm caused to industry development by some irregular laundries.
Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee, was interviewed
Secretary-General Pan Wei introduced the nine national laundry industry norms and standards currently issued in China during the interview. In response to reporters' questions about whether laundries using self-purchased chemical raw materials for washing violate national regulations and whether there is a national standard process for laundry washing procedures, he said: In China's current standards, there is no prohibition on laundries using chemical raw materials. As long as the washing chemicals and some chemical raw materials are produced by formal manufacturers and do not violate national environmental protection and pollution discharge requirements, their use is permitted in the industry. After years of development, the laundry industry has its own set of industry norms for washing procedures, and the Laundry Standardization Technical Committee has included the formulation of this standard in its work plan. The current industry standard being implemented is the "Quality Requirements for Public Textile Cleaning" (SB/T10786-2012), effective from December 1, 2012. This standard clearly specifies hygiene indicators, cleanliness, color fastness, whiteness, and other requirements for public textile washing.
Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, Chinese laundry industry expert, and Chairman of Beijing Riguang Fine Group, Guo Jidong, answers questions
Subsequently, expert Guo Jidong introduced the chemicals commonly used by laundries. He said that the chemicals used by laundries are all implemented according to national standards and light industry standards, such as national standards for laundry powder (phosphate-free), laundry powder (phosphate-containing); light industry standards for laundry soap powder, laundry paste, and liquid detergents for fabrics. These standards are mainly formulated for civilian washing products. For professional laundries, the standards for washing chemicals and stain removal products should be higher than those for civilian washing products. The behavior of some irregular laundries using strong acids and strong alkalis to prepare detergents themselves accounts for only a small number in the industry. If these enterprises do not operate with the correct proportions, it will inevitably lead to high damage rates and poor cleanliness of public textiles after washing, affecting their reputation among hotel clients and thus hindering long-term development.
The mainstream media's attention to public textile washing will promote the healthy development of the laundry industry from a long-term perspective and help the public better understand the laundry industry. However, in the short term, due to the impact of some irregular operations, the industry may face social supervision and even criticism, which also reminds industry operators that strengthening standardized and normalized management of laundry quality and improving self-management levels have become top priorities for enterprise development.
The content of this interview will be broadcast on CCTV soon, and China Laundry Network will also upload the video content.
