To effectively carry out the 2012 project establishment work for trade and circulation industry standards, the Ministry of Commerce held the 2012 industry standard project establishment expert review meeting in Beijing today. Zhu Lijun, Deputy Director of the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee, and Wang Houzeng, member and Deputy Secretary-General, participated in the meeting as industry standard work experts.
The meeting reviewed more than 400 standards applying for project establishment in the trade and circulation industry this year, including 5 laundry industry standards submitted by the Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, namely: "Quality Requirements for Ironing Polyester-Cotton Shirts", "Compliance Conditions for Laundry Shops (Factories)", "Quality Requirements for Cleaning and Care of Casual Shoes", "Quality Requirements for Laundry of Clothes", and "Quality Requirements for Cleaning and Care of Genuine Leather Sofas". These 5 industry standards were applied for project establishment to the Ministry of Commerce by the Laundry Committee after extensive research and basically completing the drafting of the initial versions, and have been widely concerned and supported by industry peers.
The "National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee" was officially established last year with the approval of the National Standardization Management Committee, and the secretariat work of the standards committee is undertaken by the Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce. Currently, various tasks are progressing intensively, including drafting the national laundry industry standard system framework and the standard formulation plan during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, with plans to hold the founding meeting when the time is ripe. The basic responsibilities of the "National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee" are: the formulation and revision of national standards for the laundry industry, promotion and supervision of standards, regulating the service and business order of the laundry industry, and improving the service and business level of the laundry industry.
