On the morning of June 7, under the guidance and promotion of the Ministry of Commerce, the China General Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter referred to as CGCC) and the China Quality Certification Center jointly hosted, and Red Star Macalline undertook, the "2014 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week in the Circulation Sector" launch ceremony held in Beijing. Nearly a hundred participants including Zhang Shudong, Deputy Inspector of the Department of Circulation Industry Development of the Ministry of Commerce; Wang Qinhua, Vice President of CGCC; Song Xiangdong, Deputy Director of the China Quality Certification Center; as well as representatives from the China Culinary Association, China Hotel Association, China Beauty and Hairdressing Association, China Portrait Photography Society, China Home Appliance Service and Maintenance Association, China Household Service Industry Association, China Department Store Business Association, CGCC Bathing Professional Committee, Laundry Professional Committee, the "Shuimu Nianhua" energy-saving and environmentally friendly product group purchase unit, Red Star Macalline, and media reporters attended the launch ceremony. 
This event was held to implement the spirit of the "Notice on the Arrangements for the 2014 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week and National Low Carbon Day Activities" jointly issued on May 13 by 14 ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce. On May 20, the China General Chamber of Commerce issued a "Notice" and released the "Plan for the Slogan Collection Activity Advocating Low-Carbon and Simple Consumption Concepts and Creating a Green Ecological China Dream," receiving more than 300 slogans. After expert review, 10 energy-saving slogans were selected and promoted nationwide. 
The launch ceremony was hosted by Zhang Lijun, Deputy Secretary-General of CGCC, with the theme "Join Hands for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, Build Clear Waters and Blue Skies Together." Zhang Shudong and Song Xiangdong delivered speeches in turn. In his speech, Deputy Inspector Zhang Shudong pointed out that the circulation sector is the intermediate link connecting production and consumption. Carrying out energy conservation work in this sector has a significant demonstration and promotion effect on upstream and downstream industries; energy conservation in the circulation sector is also an important measure to directly reduce enterprise operating costs and is significant for supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and cultivating a good market environment.
Zhang Shudong emphasized that in recent years, the Ministry of Commerce has attached great importance to energy conservation and emission reduction in the circulation sector, launching the "Hundred Cities and Thousand Stores" demonstration project for energy conservation and environmental protection in the circulation sector, and publishing the "Green Paper on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection in the Retail Industry," comprehensively promoting energy conservation and emission reduction work in the circulation sector. The Ministry of Commerce will strengthen communication with the China General Chamber of Commerce and other relevant departments, study and support policies related to energy conservation and environmental protection in the circulation sector, vigorously promote green circulation, and push energy conservation and emission reduction work in the circulation sector to a new level. 
Song Xiangdong, Deputy Director of the China Quality Certification Center, pointed out that the circulation sector is an important area for national energy conservation and emission reduction. On one hand, the circulation sector is closely related to people's production and life, serving as a window industry with an important demonstration role in national energy conservation and emission reduction. It is an important platform for promoting the use of new technologies and new products, conducive to forming a green circular consumption concept in society; on the other hand, energy consumption accounts for a large proportion of costs in circulation enterprises, with great energy-saving potential. It is an effective means to reduce enterprise costs, promote industrial upgrading, and transform the economic development mode. Since 2008, the China Quality Certification Center has cooperated with the China General Chamber of Commerce to successively release the "Catalog of Energy and Water Saving Products and Technologies in the Commercial Circulation Sector," continuously improving and updating it to provide a basis for enterprises to select and use energy and water-saving products and technologies. This year, the center will cooperate with the Ministry of Commerce to carry out the preparation of the "Implementation Guide for Energy Management Systems in the Retail Industry," hoping this will promote the improvement of energy management levels in China's retail enterprises and effectively implement energy conservation and emission reduction work in the circulation sector.
At the launch ceremony, Wang Qinhua, Vice President of CGCC, announced the 10 selected energy-saving slogans and published the collection results. These 10 slogans are:

Enjoy fashionable low-carbon life, embrace the green and happy dream.
Do your part in low-carbon energy saving, have more heart in green consumption.
Low-carbon consumption is not a show; ecological rise requires joint effort.
