The seasons change, spring goes and summer comes. The laundry industry has moved down from the peak season of down jacket washing, gradually shifting from washing synthetic down jackets to washing pure cotton casual clothes. Relatively speaking, washing pure cotton casual clothes is more difficult than washing synthetic down jackets. Pure cotton clothes have poor color fastness and are prone to fading, are not resistant to mechanical force, are sensitive to chemical agents, and are sensitive to metals. For these reasons, pure cotton clothes account for the highest proportion of washing accidents. Below is a case where multiple garments of the same style caused a washing accident due to stain removal.
Garment Name: AMASS Cotton Trench Coat (see Figure 1)
Figure 1

Accident Phenomenon:
After stain removal on multiple garments, discoloration and color change occurred at the contact points between the fabric and metal accessories, as shown in Figure 3.

Accident Analysis: Analysis found that the garments had oily pigment stains. When the laundry worker found that the stains could not be removed by regular washing, they used some unsafe stain removal methods such as hydrogen peroxide stain removal, color bleach powder stain removal, detergent stain removal (containing oxidizing agents), highly alkaline detergents, prolonged soaking, and high-temperature soaking. These caused severe oxidation and high-temperature reactions at the contact points between the fabric and metal accessories, resulting in discoloration and color change.
Difficulty of Treatment: This type of accident occurs on pure cotton clothes. The treatment methods used are dyeing and color touching-up. Small areas can be touched up, while large areas require dyeing.
Warning Level: Blue Warning
This garment, when washed according to the label, is unlikely to have washing accidents. However, after contamination with stains, stain removal must strictly follow the washing instructions to avoid high temperature, high alkalinity, and the use of stain removers containing oxidizing agents to prevent washing accidents.

Warning Explanation:
Blue Warning: Can be washed, but careless washing or stain removal may cause washing accidents. "Blue Warning" is the lowest level.
Yellow Warning: There are issues such as mismatched fabric and accessories; inaccurate washing instructions; fabric color fastness, shrinkage rate, and other problems. Caution is needed during washing.
Orange Warning: Both dry and wet washing can damage the garment or cause color transfer and bleeding. Frequent washing accidents occur, so extra caution is needed during washing.
Red Warning: The garment is prone to accidents during both dry and wet washing and must be handled with care. "Red Warning" is the highest level.
