The Ministry of Commerce website issued a final ruling announcement on the 30th, deciding to impose anti-dumping duties on imported tetrachloroethylene originating from the European Union and the United States for five years starting from May 31, 2014.
According to the announcement, the investigating authority finally determined that during the investigation period of this case, imported tetrachloroethylene originating from the European Union and the United States was dumped, the domestic industry in China suffered substantial damage, and there was a causal relationship between the dumping and the substantial damage.
The announcement stated that the Tariff Commission of the State Council made the decision based on the recommendation of the investigating authority to impose anti-dumping duties on imported tetrachloroethylene originating from the European Union and the United States starting from May 31, 2014. The anti-dumping duty rate imposed on EU companies is 27.6%, and for US companies, it is 71.8%.
The Ministry of Commerce initiated this anti-dumping investigation on May 31 last year. Tetrachloroethylene has a wide range of uses, mainly as an industrial organic solvent, dry cleaning agent, desulfurizer, metal degreaser, and heat transfer medium. This product is classified under the "Import and Export Tariff of the People's Republic of China": 29032300.
