In response to the recent undercover reporter's exposé of the "dark secrets" in laundry shops, the Sichuan Laundry Industry Association held a special meeting, advocating to "unify store names as 'XX Laundry Shop' and prohibit the use of 'XX Dry Cleaning Shop' in store names." Improve Laundry Service Quality and Strengthen Industry Management
Recently, relevant domestic and provincial media have disclosed some issues in the laundry business. On February 22, the Sichuan Laundry Industry Association immediately held a meeting in Chengdu with leaders from some well-known laundry shops, laundry chain brand companies, and raw material production and sales enterprises in our province. The meeting organized a study of the local standard technical regulatory documents "Sichuan Province Laundry Service Quality Regulations" and "Sichuan Province Laundry Service Specifications" issued by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. They carefully studied the current situation of the laundry industry disclosed by the media, and everyone unanimously agreed that the current situation and problems revealed by the media are true, fair, and objective.
This media report has attracted widespread attention from the whole society and has played a very important role in promoting and advancing the standardized, standardized, high-quality, healthy, and orderly development of the laundry industry in our province. The laundry industry is related to people's livelihood, with frequent accidents and disputes, strong technical requirements, and high laundry risks. Laundry concerns the vital interests of every consumer and is a relatively special industry. We sincerely hope that the vast number of consumers and all sectors of society will supervise and condemn illegal, irregular, and fraudulent behaviors in the laundry industry.
At the meeting, President Hu Wenjun also mentioned that the media's high attention to our industry and the strong social response made us realize that we must continuously strengthen our own construction, be strict with ourselves, work steadily and seriously, and strictly follow laundry and service operation procedures to do related work well. The new local standard technical regulatory documents "Sichuan Province Laundry Service Quality Regulations" and "Sichuan Province Laundry Service Specifications" provide us with very good guidance. Next, we will organize all practitioners in the province to earnestly study and implement the standards, and require everyone to apply each article and clause of the standards to actual work according to the actual situation, so that our services can be continuously standardized and standardized.
Secretary-General Yang Ze pointed out: Our province's laundry industry has developed rapidly in nearly thirty years, and laundry chain management companies have played an important role in promoting and advancing the industry's development. Currently, the problems in the industry have multiple causes, mainly mechanism issues, chain management business model issues, policy guidance issues, and standardized management issues. To solve these problems, industry colleagues across the province need to unify their thinking, improve laundry service quality, and strengthen industry management to jointly promote the industry's forward development.
At the meeting, other representatives also shared their thoughts and opinions. Finally, everyone reached a consensus and proposed the following initiatives to laundry practitioners across the province:
1. Laundry industry practitioners across the province, together with the industry association, shall jointly maintain industry reputation, be honest and trustworthy, operate with integrity, provide every consumer with genuine and high-quality laundry services sincerely according to industry standards and prescribed procedures, and firmly oppose and resist behaviors that deceive consumers regarding laundry quality and laundry charges.
2. Conduct self-inspection and self-correction. Each laundry shop and laundry chain franchise store shall consciously rectify according to the "Sichuan Province Laundry Service Quality Regulations" and "Sichuan Province Laundry Service Specifications" standards or company rules before May 1.
3. Unify store names as "XX Laundry Shop" (or XX Chain Laundry Shop). The use of "XX Dry Cleaning Shop" in store names is prohibited. Firmly crack down on false names of "foreign chain laundry brands" that deceive investors and operators.
4. Laundry enterprises (shops) must register with the industry and commerce authorities according to law, file with the business competent department, operate with a visible license, and laundry practitioners must hold certificates to work.
5. Service types: Must indicate dry cleaning, wet cleaning (water washing), ironing, mending, color changing, etc.
6. Service specifications: Strictly operate according to the "Laundry Service Specifications" standard content, clearly indicate service content, service terms, service prices, etc., so that consumers have the right to know.
7. Charges and prices must be reasonable, with no price fraud. Prices should be charged by category: dry cleaning price, wet cleaning price, ironing price, special service prices such as mending, color changing, trimming, zipper replacement, special stain removal, etc.
8. The detergents used must meet relevant standards.
9. The Sichuan Laundry Industry Association strongly condemns and cracks down on behaviors of illegal operation and consumer fraud, and calls on the vast number of consumers to jointly supervise and report. 10. The Sichuan Laundry Industry Association has established a reporting hotline.
