On February 22, Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, met with Peter Wennekes, CEO of the International Textile Care Network (CINET), and his delegation in Beijing. Both parties communicated about their respective work plans and priorities for this year and next. They focused on discussing the promotion and implementation of the EU energy-saving and environmental protection project Switch Asia in China's laundry and dyeing industry, as well as the Laundry and Dyeing Committee's plan to establish a Laundry and Dyeing Industry Development Research Office. It was tentatively decided to hold the inaugural meeting of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Development Research Association and the signing ceremony for the first batch of participating cities in the EU energy-saving and environmental protection project in China in mid-June. The Laundry and Dyeing Committee was also honored to invite Peter Wennekes to become a researcher at the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Development Research Office. As one of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee's important international partners in recent years, CINET will also attend the 15th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition held at the Shanghai Everbright Exhibition Center from September 20 to 22 this year, as well as the biennial China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Awards Ceremony.
The Laundry and Dyeing Committee's Laundry and Dyeing Industry Development Research Office, which is currently being prepared for establishment, will invite outstanding scholars from the global laundry and dyeing industry to conduct international discussions on cutting-edge technologies, energy saving and emission reduction, and industry development trends. Mr. Peter Wennekes expressed that he will provide international support for the establishment of this research office, and will cooperate with the EU in advancing energy-saving and environmental protection projects in China, firmly supporting research on international professional standards and quality systems in the laundry and dyeing industry.
