On May 2, 2012, the "2012 Quality Service Activities in the Commercial and Trade Service Industry" initiated by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the China General Chamber of Commerce was launched in Beijing. Vice Minister Jiang Zengwei of the Ministry of Commerce, Deputy Mayor Cheng Hong of Beijing Municipal Government, President Zhang Zhigang of the China General Chamber of Commerce, and Minister Assistants Fang Aiqing and Qiu Hong attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

This event will focus on the theme "Dedicate Quality Service, Strive to Create Advanced Models," organizing practitioners from various commercial service fields nationwide including catering, accommodation, bathing, laundry, beauty and hairdressing, domestic services, portrait photography, and home appliance repair to demonstrate standards, services, and commitments; compete in skills, quality, and contributions; strive to create public satisfaction windows, quality service brands, and outstanding service models; promote the commercial service industry to improve service quality, foster new industry trends, comprehensively enhance service levels and professional quality of practitioners in the commercial service field, establish the concept of quality service, increase public satisfaction with the commercial service industry, and promote the commercial service industry to make greater contributions to expanding domestic demand, boosting consumption, and improving people's livelihood.

Vice Minister Jiang Zengwei pointed out in his speech that the quality service activity initiated by the Ministry of Commerce under the theme "Dedicate Quality Service, Strive to Create Advanced Models" aims to promote the commercial service industry to adapt to new trends in domestic and international service industry development, comprehensively improve service levels, and create a good atmosphere of "serving the people and striving for excellence." The commercial service industry is the main practitioner of quality service; competition in the commercial service industry is competition in quality service. Enthusiastic and thoughtful quality service will be supported and embraced by consumers. Through carrying out quality service activities nationwide in the commercial service industry, we aim to enhance the service awareness and innovation consciousness of the entire industry, provide high-quality and efficient services to the broad masses, improve public satisfaction with the commercial service industry, promote continuous improvement of industry ethics, continuous enhancement of service quality, and continuous improvement of employee quality, laying a foundation for the commercial service industry to expand markets, serve people's livelihood, promote consumption, and drive domestic demand.

By widely carrying out activities such as "serving the people, striving for excellence" and "practicing quality service, being a follower of Lei Feng," transforming the spirit of Lei Feng into corporate spirit and culture, a large number of leading enterprises and figures in quality service will be cultivated, and many brand single stores, brand counters, and brand individuals of quality service will emerge, making positive contributions to expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption. Through our active efforts, we strive to make the quality service activity a brand project voluntarily participated in by enterprises, voluntarily practiced by employees, and widely satisfied by society.

This event started in May and will be organized throughout the year. Various industry associations will carry out themed activities such as displaying badges, vocational skills competitions, service skills exchanges, consumer interactions, and promoting enterprises' quality services and typical deeds according to their characteristics and realities. Through skill competitions, selection of excellence, industry training, service demonstrations, consumer promotions, and knowledge contests, the industry management measures and standards will be publicized and implemented. The event is rich in content, with nearly 30 quality service activity projects held throughout the year. All activities operate according to the 65 national and industry standards already published.

After the launching ceremony, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce organized the signing ceremony of the "National Integrity Service Convention for the Laundry and Dyeing Industry." Heads of 10 large national laundry and dyeing enterprises solemnly signed the convention, marking the beginning of the quality service activities in the laundry and dyeing industry themed "Laundry and Dyeing Beautify Life, Quality Creates the Future." This quality service activity will be effectively carried out through a series of activities including the "National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Well-known Brand Survey," "National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Outstanding Managers," "National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Trusted Product Selection," and "Laundry Shop Service Standards," as well as the "2012 National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Standards and Regulations Knowledge Contest" and the "2012 National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Skills Knowledge Contest." These activities integrate standard promotion, technical training, brand, product, and manager evaluations, and laundry shop service standards into the laundry and dyeing service activities.
