How to consider clothes properly cleaned when sent to a dry cleaner? How should compensation be handled if clothes are damaged? Due to the lack of unified standards, customers and laundry shops often have conflicting opinions, making complaints in the laundry industry a hotspot for consumer grievances.
Yesterday, reporters learned that the local standards for the laundry industry in Sichuan Province, drafted by the Sichuan Laundry Industry Association and approved by the Sichuan Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau, have been officially released and implemented. The standards include three regulations: "Laundry Service Quality Regulations," "Laundry Service Specifications," and "Laundry Enterprise Grading Regulations." Starting yesterday, these standards began to be promoted in more than 300 laundry enterprises across the province. The new standards also classify laundry enterprises into four levels: special grade, first grade, second grade, and third grade. Workers in special grade laundry enterprises must be certified to work, and in addition to regulating etiquette and language, they must be able to use simple foreign language oral skills for laundry reception services.
Specific requirements for disinfection, stain removal, and ironing have been established.
The standards specify that all types of clothing must undergo disinfection treatment after washing.
Whether washed by water or dry cleaned, clothes of different materials should be cleaned thoroughly in all parts; no pilling; no color bleeding or mixing; no stains; no odors. Stains should be removed without damaging the fabric and leaving no traces.
There are also specific requirements for ironing: tops should have a natural and smooth appearance, without bubbles, deformation, wrinkles, scorch marks, or button marks; the four seams of pants should be aligned with a maximum error of no more than 0.5 cm, and the pant legs should be even.
Compensation for losses: depreciation rate not exceeding 75%.
Yang Ze, Secretary-General of the Sichuan Laundry Industry Association, introduced that for high-end clothing valued over 2,000 yuan, a separate high-value clothing preservation washing contract must be signed. If damage or loss occurs, the operator should compensate according to the contract amount. For non-preservation washing services, if damage or loss is caused by the operator's responsibility, compensation should be negotiated based on the purchase receipt, considering the condition, fabric quality, and years of wear, with a maximum depreciation rate of 75%.
