On June 26, the "Jiangsu Province Laundry Industry Healthy Development Seminar" hosted by the Jiangsu Province Laundry Industry Association was held at Nantong Jianghai Washing Machinery Co., Ltd. Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry Professional Committee of the China Commercial Federation, and Executive Deputy Director Shu Qi, Hu Jinyuan, Director of the Service Trade and Commercial Service Industry Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, Zhou Zhanping, President of the Jiangsu Province Laundry Industry Association, and other leaders attended the meeting. More than one hundred industry professionals from relevant institutions and enterprises in Jiangsu participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ding Lianghua, Executive Vice President of the Jiangsu Province Laundry Industry Association.
The meeting began with an enthusiastic opening speech by President Zhou Zhanping, followed by the seminar phase. The video "The Dark Side Under the White Sheets" shocked attendees with its eye-opening footage and startling introduction, leading participants into the discussion topic—how to promote the healthy development of the laundry industry that needs regulation. Representatives from laundry industry associations in Nantong, Suzhou, Jiangyin, and Taizhou respectively introduced the current development status and operational issues of the local laundry industry and exchanged experiences on ideas and approaches to solve these problems.
Pan Wei delivered a keynote speech titled "Some Thoughts on Public Textile Washing" at the meeting. He said that public textiles are an important part of laundry services. Currently, there are many problems such as small scale, low capacity, outdated equipment and processes, high energy consumption, illegal operations, and serious pollution. Practitioners should work meticulously, look internationally, learn from the production experience of developed countries, and transform China's laundry industry from a simple, backward, inefficient, and high-resource-consuming production mode to an automated, efficient, and low-resource-consuming production mode. Shu Qi said in his speech at the conference: laundry enterprises should be self-reliant, operate in a standardized manner, strictly follow washing procedures, avoid cutting corners, using inferior equipment or chemicals, and prevent service disputes and production accidents caused by these issues. Relevant leaders attending the meeting also gave speeches one after another. In the afternoon, the meeting held group discussions. During this period, Pan Wei was also interviewed by Nantong TV Station and shared his personal views on the updating and upgrading of washing equipment.
