On January 9, 2013, the Service Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce held a national conference on service trade and commercial service industry work at the National Convention Center in Beijing. Relevant leaders and heads from the commerce systems and business associations of provinces and cities across the country attended the meeting. Assistant Minister Qiu Hong of the Ministry of Commerce attended the meeting and delivered an important speech, and Director Zhou Liujun of the Service Trade Department gave a work report. During the meeting, Assistant Minister Qiu Hong put forward relevant requirements regarding the development status of the eight major service industries under the Service Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce. He believed that the related industries should further improve the level of industry services, promote high-quality services, regulate industry development, strengthen industry organization management capabilities, enhance industry self-discipline, and promote rapid industry development.
Li Shuyu, head of the training department of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, attended the meeting and spoke during the group discussion, reflecting to the relevant leaders of the Ministry of Commerce the difficulties currently faced by the laundry industry training work: facing the high mobility of industry practitioners, most enterprises are unwilling to invest a large amount of manpower and financial resources in personnel training, resulting in uneven quality of practitioners, thereby reducing service level and quality. Therefore, it is hoped that relevant government departments can provide certain support for industry training work and fully utilize the role of association organizations. In addition, it was mentioned that the laundry industry currently has no access standards, leading to uneven service quality especially among laundry service enterprises, which is also one of the reasons restricting the healthy development of the industry. Therefore, it is hoped that the government can grant the association certain management functions in the industry's access regulations.
