On the afternoon of March 1, 2019, the work meeting of the Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Mechanism of the China General Chamber of Commerce was held in Beijing. Zhou Jingying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce (Director of the Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Mechanism), Vice President Fu Longcheng (Executive Director of the Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Mechanism), Deputy Secretary-General and Minister of the International Department Ma Wei (Deputy Director of the Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Mechanism), and the heads of the Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Points approved for the first time by the China General Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the "Reply from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on the Establishment of the Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Mechanism of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade" was issued. The Dyeing and Washing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce was approved to establish the "Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Point of the Dyeing and Washing Professional Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade." A total of 9 institutions recommended by the China General Chamber of Commerce applied to establish friction points. After strict written review and on-site inspection by the CCPIT, only 4 institutions were approved: the Dyeing and Washing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the China Meat Association, the Arbitration Professional Committee of the National Urban Agricultural Trade Center Federation, and the Commodity Trading Market Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce.
The Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Point of the Dyeing and Washing Professional Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade was established in response to the continuous increase in import and export trade in China's dyeing and washing industry, the frequent changes in the international trade situation, and the intensification of friction issues. The early warning point will cooperate with relevant national institutions and international organizations, combine the problems encountered by dyeing and washing enterprises in import and export trade, and take measures such as information notification, economic and trade lobbying, legal defense, and consultation dialogue to eliminate and resolve frictions and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the industry and enterprises. It will also organize enterprises with international trade needs to learn relevant legal knowledge and conduct compliance training to help dyeing and washing enterprises better carry out international business, in line with industry demands.
The Economic and Trade Friction Early Warning Point of the China Dyeing and Washing Committee will start investigating the import and export trade situation of enterprises in the national dyeing and washing industry, study the establishment of the organizational structure and related work procedures for this task, aiming to provide good service for resolving trade frictions for enterprises in the dyeing and washing industry. It is also hoped that enterprises in the dyeing and washing industry engaged in import and export trade activities will actively contact the China Dyeing and Washing Committee to contribute ideas and suggestions for this work.
