Clothes were stored at the laundry from summer to winter until the laundry went out of business. When customers couldn't retrieve their clothes, they anxiously called the police.
The police tracked down the laundry owner and found a warehouse full of clothes that hadn't been sent out before the laundry closed, then began looking for the owners of the clothes.
The laundry closed, clothes couldn't be retrieved, so the police were called.
"If clothes are lost, you can call the police. The police are really helpful!" Mr. Li, who lives in Huanggu District, told everyone about his recent personal experience.
In August this year, Mr. Li sent two down jackets to the laundry but was too busy taking care of his grandson to pick them up.
Recently, as the weather in Shenyang got colder, he and his wife remembered the down jackets were still at the laundry. But no matter how hard they looked, they couldn't find it; the laundry had become a restaurant. Later, neighbors told them: "It's not that the laundry can't be found, it closed down and the owner disappeared. The laundry storefront became a restaurant..."
These were the most decent two down jackets of Mr. Li and his wife, and they usually didn't want to wear them. Mr. Li and his wife anxiously blamed each other. Neighbors reminded them to complain to the relevant department about the laundry, and if they didn't know which department, just call 96123 directly.
96123 was also in a difficult position; whether helping the elderly find their clothes or punishing the laundry, they still needed to find someone. After thinking it over, they handed the task to the Public Security Bureau.
Clothes not picked up piled up in the warehouse; the police helped find the owners.
The problem of finding people was finally solved by community police officers from Huashan Police Station, Huanggu Branch of Shenyang Public Security Bureau. The officers found the laundry owner's whereabouts through years of accumulated community policing records.
When the laundry owner learned of the police's visit, he was very happy. When he opened the warehouse, the police were surprised to see it full of clothes customers hadn't picked up before the laundry closed. Since they were regular customers, no phone numbers were left. The key point was these regulars often didn't pick up their clothes on time; customers like Mr. Li who stored clothes from summer to winter were not few.
Experienced police knew the owner wanted help finding the clothes' owners. The police took out the community work diary again and found the owners of the clothes one by one from the customer list.
The customers who got their clothes back exclaimed repeatedly: "96123 really works, we didn't expect them to help even when clothes were lost. If this happens again, can we always call the police..."
The police stated that as community police become more professional and familiar with the community, in such cases, there is actually no need to call the police; directly contacting the community police might get it done.
