Recently, the Ministry of Commerce released 48 domestic trade industry standards including the "Commercial Franchise Management Specification Retail Industry." Among them, four standards proposed, approved, and drafted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce were officially promulgated and will be implemented in the industry on December 1, 2012: "Terminology of Laundry and Dyeing Industry," "Technical Specification for Laundry Service Contracts," "Quality Requirements for Ironing Suits and Trousers," and "Quality Requirements for Cleaning Public Textiles."
The "Terminology of Laundry and Dyeing Industry" (SB/T 10783—2012) was jointly drafted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee, and Beijing Funait Laundry Service Co., Ltd. The standard mainly starts from commonly used vocabulary in China's laundry and dyeing industry, stipulating the professional terms commonly used by enterprises in business services, and provides unified, standardized, and scientific explanations of the terms.
The "Technical Specification for Laundry Service Contracts" (SB/T 10784—2012) was jointly drafted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee, the Shanghai Laundry Industry Association, and Qingdao Jieshen Laundry Co., Ltd. The standard proposes targeted suggestions and requirements for multiple aspects including daily business management, service reception, processing production, and quality responsibility of enterprises.
The "Quality Requirements for Ironing Suits and Trousers" (SB/T 10785—2012) was jointly drafted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee, and Tianjin Chaoli Laundry Co., Ltd. The standard specifies the specific requirements for ironing various parts of suits and trousers in enterprise business services.
The "Quality Requirements for Cleaning Public Textiles" (SB/T 10786—2012) was jointly drafted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee, the Beijing Laundry Industry Association, and the Nanjing Laundry Industry Association. The standard specifies the specific requirements for enterprises in business services regarding whiteness, color fastness, cleanliness, and hygiene indicators of public textiles.
The standards received widespread attention from industry colleagues during the formulation process. After multiple rounds of soliciting opinions and repeated demonstrations by industry experts, the final draft was submitted to the Ministry of Commerce for approval. The promulgation and implementation of these four standards represent another important achievement in the standardization and normalization of China's laundry and dyeing industry, which will further promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry. The Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce and the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee will continue to work hard to standardize management in the field of regulations, explore incentive mechanisms for standard formulation and revision, attract more industry colleagues to participate, and steadily advance the standardization process of China's laundry and dyeing industry in a focused and planned manner.
