People's Daily Shenyang, March 16th — "An explosion occurred at a factory near Qipanshan. Three people died on the spot, and the injured were sent to the Shenyang North New District Central Hospital, then transferred to another hospital." Early on March 16th, a reporter received a call from an informant.
The reporter called Shenyang North Central Hospital for confirmation, but the duty staff said they were unaware. Subsequently, the reporter confirmed the information with an informed source.
Soon, on the official Weibo account of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, "Shenyang Release," a message was posted: "At 5 a.m. on March 16th, an ironing machine exploded in a laundry room in the Huishan area of Shenyang North New District, causing 3 deaths on the spot, 2 serious injuries, and 1 person died en route to the hospital. The specific cause of the accident is under further investigation."
