Shirts are essential clothing for everyone and are frequently washed. However, home laundering often does not achieve very good results. How to wash shirts to achieve a clean and bright effect? Shirts are worn close to the body, and the main stains on them are water-soluble body soils and sebaceous-type stains on the collar and cuffs. The parts that are difficult to wash thoroughly are mainly concentrated on the collar and cuffs, as well as sweat stains that tend to accumulate.
Considering the characteristics of these stains, washing shirts can be approached from the following points:
(1) It is best to first soak the shirt in cold water for a few minutes to remove surface dust and sweat.
(2) Choose an appropriate detergent based on the shirt's fabric and the severity of the stains. For example, silk, wool, or synthetic fiber shirts should use neutral detergents; pure cotton or cotton-polyester shirts can use alkaline detergents, etc.
(3) Before washing, you can spray collar cleaner on the collar and cuffs and let it sit for a while before washing.
(4) For light-colored pure cotton or cotton-polyester shirts, a small amount of chlorine bleach (such as 84 disinfectant) can be added during washing.
(5) Except for silk shirts, most shirts can be hand-brushed on heavily soiled areas before machine washing.
(6) Rinse thoroughly, then spin dry and air dry or tumble dry. Shirts washed this way will definitely achieve a clean and bright effect.
