What kind of detergent can keep baby's clothes looking new after frequent washing? What kind of detergent does not harm the baby's skin? Moms' experiences will help you make a choice...
Mom: Ma Xin (Liaoning) Baby: Liu Pengpai (1 year 3 months)
Since my son was born, we have used disposable diapers, so I have no experience washing cloth diapers. But in the first few months, he often spit up milk. As he grew older, his activity range increased, and sometimes he wet his pants. My experience is to soak the changed clothes immediately in clean water, so that milk stains and urine stains dissolve into the water. After a while, a gentle wash makes them clean as new. The same applies to "poop" stains. But juice and oil stains must be washed immediately; soaking them too long makes them more stubborn.
I have always used "Lova" baby clothing soap powder to wash my son's clothes. It can be hand-washed or machine-washed, very convenient. Just soak for 20 minutes and the clothes become snow white. Also, it does not irritate the skin. After washing, the clothes are very soft, no need for fabric softener, and have a natural fragrance.
Mom: Li Ying (Tianjin) Baby: Zhang Sirui (7 months)
When choosing baby clothing detergents, I think the first thing to consider is whether it irritates the skin and whether the clothes are clean after washing. Children's (especially infants') skin is delicate. If ordinary detergent is not rinsed cleanly, residual detergent on clothes will irritate the baby's skin, causing mild itching or severe rashes. Also, babies often get juice, food, and milk on their face, clothes, and hands. After a day, the clothes are colorful. If the detergent's cleaning power is not high, stains will remain on the clothes, which looks bad.
I usually use "Kaimi" Diwang baby laundry liquid and "Weijie" baby clothes care liquid. Their advantages are that they are specially made for babies, have high cleaning power, fragrant smell, mild nature, easy to rinse, and do not irritate the baby's delicate skin. "Kaimi" Diwang baby laundry liquid contains no harmful chemicals like phosphorus, aluminum, or fluorescent agents, so I can use it safely for my baby.
Mom: Chen Ying (Liaoning) Baby: Sun Chen (1 year 1 month)
Baby's skin is delicate and cannot tolerate any irritation. Many detergents contain various chemical ingredients that can damage or even cause allergies to the baby's skin.
At first, I only used "Johnson's" soap, which is non-irritating and has a special fragrance. When he was older, I switched to specialized laundry products. Of course, when buying clothes for the baby, choose soft and breathable cotton clothes.
Mom: Lv Hui (Wuchang) Baby: Fan Jiahui (10 months)
I once struggled a lot with juice and tea stains on my baby's clothes and tried many brands of detergents. In the end, I found "Green Umbrella" laundry liquid and stain remover to be effective, affordable, and convenient to use. Especially the stain remover, which is designed to remove heavy stains on specific parts of clothes. When using, first apply the stain remover to the dirty spots, wait a few minutes, then put the clothes in the washing machine, add laundry liquid, and wash as usual (for very heavy or old stains, hand rubbing or brushing works better).
Mom: Zhang Yuxiu (Beijing) Baby: Zhao Tianyi (6 months)
My favorite is "Kaimi" baby concentrated multifunctional laundry liquid. When choosing detergents for children, besides considering cleaning power, it is important to consider whether it irritates the baby's delicate skin and to choose products specially formulated for babies. It contains no phosphorus, aluminum, alkali, or fluorescent whitening agents and has functions such as stain removal, sterilization, softening, and anti-static.
Before this, I tried several products. Some had unpleasant smells and were hard to rinse, while others were too expensive. "Kaimi" laundry liquid has a fresh fragrance, is easy to rinse, and is affordable.
From the analysis of this reader survey, when choosing detergents, moms do not place much importance on price and brand. The main concerns for detergents are: 1. Whether it irritates the skin 2. Cleaning power 3. Environmental friendliness.
Tips:
Babies are still very young and have limited control. They often leave juice, soup, milk, or saliva on their clothes while eating. How can you keep baby's clothes clean and like new? Here are some tips:
1. For baby's clothes, the principle is frequent washing and changing. Change and wash clothes promptly when dirty.
2. Baby's clothes should not be washed together with adults' clothes. If washing underwear and outerwear together, wash underwear first, then outerwear, and do not soak them together.
3. Use laundry liquids or detergents specially made for children to wash baby's clothes, including laundry soap and powder. Make sure the detergent does not contain harmful substances like phosphorus, aluminum, or fluorescent whitening agents.
4. After buying baby's clothes, always wash them before wearing. Before washing, carefully read the labels on the clothes, paying attention to the required water temperature, whether machine washing is allowed, and whether ironing is needed.
5. Baby's underwear should be changed and washed frequently, rinsed several times with clean water to remove residual detergent. After washing, scald with boiling water to prevent white underwear from yellowing, remove milk odor, sterilize, and restore softness, but only if the fabric quality allows. If possible, dry in sunlight.
6. If milk stains accidentally get on the clothes, you can immediately rinse with cold water, then soak and wash with enzyme detergent.
7. If juice or other stains get on the clothes, you can try dripping vinegar on the stain and soaking for a few minutes, then wash as usual.
8. For accidental oil stains, you can try applying toothpaste on the stain and leave it for a while, then scrub; this works very well for accidental stains.
