1. Avoid using hot water (high temperature)
Washing synthetic fibers at too high a temperature will cause the fabric to wrinkle, deform, harden, or soften and not return to its original state. For example, chlorofiber and polypropylene will deform and shrink when exposed to high temperatures, while acrylic will expand, soften, and lose elasticity. Generally, washing at room temperature (cold water) is appropriate.
2. Avoid vigorous scrubbing
When hand washing synthetic fiber clothing, it is best to gently rub and knead with your hands. A soft brush can also be used, but do not scrub too hard.
When using a washing machine, choose machines with slow spin speed, or low-speed and gentle cycle options.
3. Avoid exposure to sunlight or high-temperature drying
Synthetic fibers have poor sun resistance; exposure to sunlight accelerates fiber aging and affects service life. Synthetic fibers have low heat resistance, and most cannot be dried using a dryer. For clothes that cannot be tumble dried, it is best to hang them in a cool, ventilated place.
