(1) Remove the accessories from the curtain fabric before cleaning. (Such as curtain hooks, the bottom iron of Roman blinds, etc.) The small decorative tassels on the curtain fabric are handmade silk-like crafts, which generally do not require washing with water, only wiping with a damp cloth or dusting is needed.
(2) Control the water temperature below 30°C when cleaning. The international standard shrinkage rate for decorative fabrics is 3%, so the curtains do not need to be soaked before cleaning to avoid severe shrinkage. The washing time should be controlled within 30 minutes. Avoid using harsh detergents.
(3) Curtains are made using pigments through different processes and may have slight fading, especially red and black colors with poor colorfastness. Therefore, different fabrics should be washed separately to avoid color transfer.
(4) Some thinner curtain products (especially glass gauze types in window screens) should not be spun dry in a washing machine. When cleaning, soak in dissolved laundry powder (soap) water, rinse thoroughly, then hang to dry in a cool place (do not expose to sunlight) or hang directly.
(5) Roman blinds should preferably be dry cleaned at a dry cleaner. Because Roman blinds require precise window size measurements, washing with water may cause deformation or shrinkage, but dry cleaning includes a shaping process that avoids these issues.
(6) Blackout fabric should not be washed directly in a washing machine, as this will damage the coating on the back of the fabric. The best cleaning method is to wipe directly with a damp cloth (or one dipped in soapy water).
(7) Although bamboo and wooden blinds have been treated for moisture resistance before leaving the factory, they still need to be protected from damp liquids and gases. Therefore, avoid using water when cleaning; generally, use a feather duster or dry cloth.
(8) The cleaning methods for roller blinds, Venetian blinds, vertical blinds, pleated blinds, and accordion blinds are relatively simple. Dust can be wiped off directly with a damp cloth, and if necessary, some neutral detergent can be added to the water.
