Washing Method
When washing, it is essential to maintain shape, sample, color, and gloss, so only dry cleaning is allowed. Moreover, dry cleaning machines cannot be used; only manual dry cleaning is permitted. Before washing, use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from both sides of the carpet. During washing, use a small towel soaked with solvent gasoline to repeatedly wipe the carpet 2 to 3 times. The small towel should be rinsed in the solvent gasoline at any time. After wiping, vacuum again to remove the residue. This completes the dry cleaning process.
Additionally, the carpet fringes should be brushed with water-based detergent. The method is to use a soft brush dipped in detergent solution to brush the fringe edges, brushing while wiping dry with a clean dry towel to absorb the dirty water and prevent carpet contamination.
Then use a clean damp towel to wipe the fringes several times to absorb the residual detergent on the fringes onto the towel, and finally use a clean dry towel to dry the fringes. If the fringes turn yellow, hydrogen peroxide can be used for bleaching. This method can also be used for manual dry cleaning of some small pure wool carpets, but it is not suitable for some synthetic fiber carpets.
Large Carpets
1. First, vacuum the carpet. Vacuuming is an important step in keeping the carpet clean.
2. Three-in-one foam carpet cleaner or floor scrubber with foam tank: uses foam cleaning with less moisture and quick drying. It is the simplest, fastest, safest, and most economical way to restore carpet luster; suitable for mid-term carpet cleaning and maintenance.
3. Oscillating brush carpet cleaner: sprays and extracts with fast drying; 2800 times/minute oscillating brush cleans dirt, sand, and residual chemicals thoroughly while loosening carpet fibers to restore elasticity. Suitable for periodic deep cleaning of carpets.
Carpet Drying
Whether the carpet dries promptly directly affects color retention, recontamination issues, and service life, sometimes even impacting business operations. Therefore, quick drying after carpet cleaning is especially important.
1. Ensure machines and equipment operate normally. Sometimes water extractors or washing machines may have issues (such as low suction, water leakage, excessive liquid output), which increase drying time.
2. During and after carpet washing, keep the ventilation system running to expel indoor humid air and reduce humidity. Even if the carpet is not very wet, if indoor air does not circulate, moisture is hard to discharge, significantly prolonging drying time. If suitable, open doors and windows and start the heating system to increase temperature and speed up drying.
3. Use hair dryers or fans to aid drying. Airflow is the main factor for quick carpet drying. If drying takes too long, mold and mildew spores will proliferate, causing odor and damage to the carpet.
4. Increase 1–2 rounds of water absorption steps (no water spraying, only water suction).
5. Using hot water during water extraction can improve washing effect and reduce drying time.
6. Use a carpet rake to straighten carpet fibers to facilitate moisture evaporation.
7. Over-wetting the carpet during washing is very harmful, including increased drying time, carpet damage, mold and odor, and shrinkage. Therefore, avoid over-wetting the carpet as much as possible.
Organizing and Storage
1. Fold neatly, bag flat, avoid hanging to prevent deformation; do not mix with other products in the same bag.
2. Store in a place that is light-proof, ventilated, and dry; pay attention to moth prevention and avoid direct contact with moth repellents.
