The 11th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition Finals will be held from September 25 to 27, 2019, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. This competition is an important part of the China Laundry Industry Conference and the 2019 China Skills Competition—National Commercial Industry Vocational Skills Competition. It is a national-level Category II competition and the most authoritative vocational skills competition in the laundry and dyeing industry. This competition has received high attention and active participation from local associations and enterprises nationwide, with enthusiastic registration in each sub-competition area. This competition includes six events: front desk service, stain removal, leather care, shoe care, garment ironing, and clothing mending.

Laundry front desk service receptionists are the service hub for customers. Professional knowledge, service attitude, dispute resolution, and more directly affect the store's service operations. The front desk reception in a laundry should be distinguished from front desk service personnel in other industries; it is professionally led, integrating expertise into service, presenting rigid and dull content in a way that customers can accept, thereby gaining their trust and accepting the laundry's service. It has been proven that many washing accidents in the laundry industry depend on the front desk, so the front desk is crucial in service industry operations. This requires a qualified front desk service staff to have good communication skills, a responsible work attitude, solid professional skills, and reasonable dispute resolution abilities. Therefore, the 11th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition has set up a front desk service event. The exam consists of a 20-minute closed-book theory test and a real-scene simulation operation. Contestants are timed to receive clothes brought by customers and fill out clothing receipt tickets. The assessment includes: standardized clothing receipt, fabric identification, washing method selection, clothing condition description, post-wash effect explanation, and service awareness.
