Recently, the reporter learned from the organizing committee of the 8th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition and the 2nd Guangzhou International Laundry Industry Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition") that from November 23 to 27, 2006, a delegation of 19 people including Shu Qi, Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, Lu Zhiji, Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce and President of the Guangdong Laundry Industry Association, Pan Zhenfei, Secretary-General of the Guangdong Laundry Industry Association, and Han Xiuping, General Manager of Xinzhilian Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., traveled to Tokyo, Japan for a five-day visit and inspection. The main purpose of this trip was to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the current laundry and dyeing market in Japan, understand the development status of Japan's laundry and dyeing industry in recent years, invite relevant Japanese organizations to bring their domestic laundry enterprises and trade procurement delegations to participate in the "8th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition," and further strengthen economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between China and Japan in the laundry and dyeing industry and related fields.
On the morning of the 24th, the delegation visited the Tokyo International Exhibition Center to attend the "Clean Life Outlook 21 - Japan Laundry Industry Comprehensive Exhibition" held there. This exhibition is one of the most important events in the Asian laundry and dyeing industry and enjoys high recognition and influence within the industry. The exhibition covered nearly 20,000 square meters, with more than 170 participating companies, attracting professional visitors from neighboring countries and regions including China, South Korea, North Korea, Russia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
Members of the delegation visited each participating company at the exhibition one by one, gaining detailed understanding of the companies' latest products and market conditions, and invited the exhibitors to participate in the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition" to be held in Guangzhou next year to explore the huge Chinese market. Most exhibitors, such as Right Corporation, Hihon Sealing Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Sumisho Corporation, San-ai Corporation, and Tobari Corporation, well-known Japanese companies, showed great interest and enthusiasm in participating in the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition," hoping to use this platform to further expand the Chinese laundry market. Tobari Corporation reserved a 110-square-meter booth on site.
According to staff from the laundry exhibition organizing committee, most companies participating in this Tokyo laundry exhibition introduced and demonstrated their products through practical demonstrations to help visitors better understand the features and superior performance of the products, attracting large crowds to watch. Almost every booth with live demonstrations was crowded with visitors. Japan's Daibao Industry Corporation showcased its latest high-tech product — an air dry cleaning machine, which is one of the first of its kind to be demonstrated and exhibited in Asia. After learning about the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition," the company's person in charge immediately expressed the intention to launch this product in the Chinese market next year and exhibit it at the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition." This will be the first time the product is exhibited in China and is expected to attract great attention from many Chinese laundry industry professionals.
On the afternoon of the 25th, the main leaders of the three organizing units of this Tokyo laundry exhibition held a symposium with the delegation to discuss strengthening cooperation between the Chinese and Japanese laundry industries and matters related to the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition." Japanese participants included Mr. Aoyama Toru, President of the Japan National Laundry and Sanitation Cooperative Federation; Vice Presidents Mr. Furutani Hajime, Mr. Koiwa Masatsugu, and Mr. Yamada Shoji; Mr. Ito Shohei, President of the All Japan Washing Machine Dealers Association; Mr. Shiode Osamu, Vice President of the Business Washing Machine Department of the Japan Industrial Machinery Association; and Vice President Mr. Uekusa Goro, totaling seven people. President Aoyama warmly welcomed the Chinese delegation, gave a detailed introduction to the development status and future trends of the Japanese laundry industry, and expressed hope that through full exchanges and cooperation in the laundry industry between the two countries, the common development of the laundry industries in both countries could be promoted. He also stated that he would actively organize Japanese companies to participate in the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition." Shu Qi, Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, introduced the rapid development period of China's laundry industry and the huge market demand, inviting more Japanese companies to invest in China. He hoped to enhance the internationalization of the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition" through this visit and cooperation. Han Xiuping, General Manager of Xinzhilian Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction to the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition" and invited many Japanese companies to participate in the exhibition to use this excellent platform to explore the Chinese market. After the meeting, both sides exchanged gifts and took group photos.
In order to better promote the "8th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition and the 2nd Guangzhou International Laundry Industry Exhibition" at this Tokyo laundry exhibition, the organizing committee specially printed Japanese versions of the exhibition promotional materials and billboards, placed roll-up banners at several prominent locations in the exhibition hall, arranged dedicated personnel to distribute promotional materials and introduce the exhibition to professional visitors on site. According to statistics, more than 8,700 copies of materials were distributed over three days, more than 1,300 business cards were collected, and over 600 inquiries were received. The promotion effect was unexpectedly good and achieved great success.
On the 26th, some members of the delegation remained at the exhibition site to visit participating companies and promote the "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition," while others visited two large laundry factories of Tokyo-based laundry companies. On the morning of the 27th, the delegation ended their visit to Japan and returned to China by plane.
During this Tokyo trip, the delegation had very thorough communication and exchanges with the main leaders of the Japan Laundry Industry Association, many well-known Japanese laundry machinery and raw material manufacturers, and heads of laundry enterprises, gaining a deeper understanding of the development status of the Japanese laundry and dyeing industry. They reached a consensus with the Japan Laundry Industry Association on jointly promoting exchanges and cooperation between laundry enterprises in the two countries. It is believed that with increasingly frequent exchanges and deepening economic and trade cooperation between the laundry industries of the two countries, China's laundry and dyeing industry will further develop towards the goals of being healthy, orderly, high-level, and high-quality.
