Since June 18, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and areas along the river, as well as Jianghuai and the eastern part of Southwest China, have experienced the strongest rainfall since the start of the flood season. Currently, 91 rivers in Hubei, Anhui, Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and other provinces have exceeded the warning water level, 28 rivers have exceeded the guaranteed water level. Hubei has broken historical flood records, and rivers such as Xihe, Yong'an River, Fengle River, Erlang River in Anhui, and five rivers in Hubei have experienced floods exceeding the highest historical water levels. Especially since June 18, all 102 counties (cities, districts) in Hubei Province have undergone four rounds of heavy rainfall, with some areas reaching "once in a century" rainfall levels, and the flood and disaster situation in the province is fully critical.
From July 5 to 6, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council went to Anhui, Hunan, and Hubei to inspect flood control efforts. The Premier's most frequent reminder to local officials was: "You must put the safety of people's lives and property first, so that the people are not afraid in the face of floods and can stand strong as the backbone of the flood-affected areas!" "You must prioritize the safety of the people's lives and property above all else!"
Flood control and disaster relief rely on dikes, but even more on 'people.' Every additional person adds strength. Our colleagues in the laundry and dyeing industry should actively respond to the national call and participate in flood fighting and rescue. Especially to the enterprises on the front lines of flood control, thank you for your hard work! While ensuring your own flood control and risk prevention, you also persist in providing laundry services to the disaster-affected people. We salute you! Our colleagues in the national laundry and dyeing industry express our deep sympathy to you.
Colleagues on the front line of flood fighting and rescue must build confidence and have a firm belief in overcoming the flood disaster. At the same time, strengthen self-protection awareness, improve the scientific guarding of laundry and dyeing facilities, and pay more attention to personal safety.
Colleagues in the laundry and dyeing industry: According to forecasts, heavy rainfall will continue in many parts of our country, and the flood control situation is very severe. We in the laundry and dyeing industry are one family; when one place is in trouble, help comes from all sides. We laundry and dyeing people must carry forward the fine traditions of the Chinese nation and actively support all work in the disaster areas. Not only can we continuously lead the laundry and dyeing industry toward healthy and standardized development, but in the face of major disasters, we will never retreat. United in will and facing difficulties head-on, we will surely create miracles in overcoming floods and serving the people. Victory belongs to the laundry and dyeing people who are not afraid of hardship, are strong-willed, and dare to ride the waves!
