Neutral Detergent
Silk garments must be washed with neutral detergent, and the amount should not be too much. It is better to wash multiple times than to use too much detergent, and alkaline detergents must not be used.
Minimize Washing Intensity (Mechanical Force, Time, Temperature)
Silk garments are not suitable for washing in ordinary washing machines; if necessary, a gentle washing program should be selected. Most silk clothes are suitable for hand washing or wet cleaning processes.
Avoid Friction
When hand scrubbing is needed, use a soft brush; do not use a scraper for stain removal.
Stain Removal During Washing
Removing oil stains from clothes requires patience. Pre-treatment before washing or stain removal during washing can be done. Removing oil stains requires patience and should not be rushed.
Continuous Operation, No Pausing
When washing silk garments, stopping or pausing for any reason is not allowed. The process must be continuous until washing, rinsing, color fixing, and dehydration are completed before drying, then it can be finished.
Acetic Acid Color Fixing Treatment
Except for white or very light colors, acetic acid must be used to ensure the silk garments' colors remain bright and do not fade.
Isolation Treatment
For any garments prone to color bleeding, isolation must be done during dehydration and drying by using padding cloth or wrapping before dehydration.
Treatment of Blended Fabrics
When the fabric contains a certain proportion of silk, it must be treated as pure silk fabric without taking chances. Many famous brand women's clothes often use fabrics containing a certain proportion of silk, so pay attention to the fabric composition label before washing.
