——Speech by President Xue Jun of Shanghai Hangxing at the National Laundry Industry Experts Appreciation Meeting (Excerpt)
Dear association leaders, industry colleagues, good evening everyone!
Today, I would like to share three topics with you: gratitude, responsibility, and cooperation.
First, I want to thank the Laundry Committee for the meticulous preparation of this series of events, providing such an unlimited platform for industry communication. Frankly speaking, as our leading organization, the association's awareness of industry and enterprise concerns, service consciousness, and support consciousness deeply moved me, and I believe it has left a deep impression on everyone present. Over the past few years, Director Wang, Secretary-General Pan, and their team have done a lot of innovative work, initiated various standardization efforts, actively supported enterprise development, highlighted the positive energy of the industry, benefiting the entire sector and leading the laundry industry to a new height! Also present today are leaders and friends from local laundry associations, as well as industry association friends from overseas, to whom I express my sincere thanks!
By 2015, there are definitely thousands of laundry enterprises of various sizes in China, and the industry competition is very fierce. Hangxing has nearly 30 years of history in this industry and is a "relatively old" company. We have survived and developed until now, and I especially want to take this opportunity today to thank all sectors of society for their support, understanding, and care for Hangxing, for our Chinese enterprises, and for Chinese manufacturing.
At the same time, I believe Hangxing also has the responsibility, especially as a representative of the industry-level units, to call on government agencies to provide more support for Chinese manufacturing. Instead of helping to absorb the excess capacity of European and American enterprises, it is better to give more opportunities to Chinese manufacturing enterprises. Of course, there are indeed some gaps between Chinese manufacturing and internationally leading enterprises in washing technology, workwear equipment, design concepts, etc., but this is by no means the distance from here to another planet. Moreover, we strongly call on our peers in the laundry industry, as responsible enterprises and entrepreneurs, to pay attention not only to price but also to the value contained in business, especially to give more opportunities to enterprises that are developing, honest, capable, and responsible.
Third, besides competition among enterprises, cooperation should also be advocated, especially now that laundry enterprises have developed to this stage. As a responsible enterprise and entrepreneur, we must demonstrate business ethics, business morality, and business courage to jointly rebuild the current market environment. Less mutual blame, less malicious price competition, less dismantling, more support, and more strategic cooperation. Today, I am very happy to see so many peers gathered together, to see the respected Mr. Chen, and to see enterprises in our industry that have done very well in marketing and cooperation, such as representatives from eDaixi, Yibeijie, Funait, and others. This is a blessing for the industry!
I firmly believe that in the next five years, the pace of industry cooperation and development will be unstoppable!
Postscript: On the evening of August 7, 2015, leveraging the opportunity of the 12th China International Laundry Industry Exhibition, the National Laundry Industry Experts Appreciation Meeting was hosted by the China Commercial Federation Laundry Committee and organized by Hangxing Machinery. More than 150 people participated in this event, including leaders of the Laundry Committee, local laundry association leaders, domestic and overseas industry experts, and well-known figures. President Xue Jun represented Hangxing to deliver a toast speech, and the above is an excerpt from the speech.
