1 Scope
This standard specifies the washing quality requirements and test methods for public textiles.
This standard applies to public textiles used by tourism hotels, catering, transportation, and other units.
Note: The cleaning quality requirements for public textiles used in medical and other health institutions will be specified separately.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Public textiles
Various textiles used by hotels, hospitals, transportation units, such as bed sheets, towels, tablecloths, mailbags, etc.

3.2
Tourist hotel
Accommodation facilities that provide guests with dining and related services on a nightly basis. Depending on different customs, it is also called guesthouse, hotel, apartment, inn, hostel, guesthouse, service center, tavern, resort, club, building, center, etc.

3.3
Catering services
Services that provide food and consumption venues and facilities to consumers through instant production, commercial sales, and service labor.

3.4
Transportation
Generally refers to public transportation industries using public textiles such as civil aviation, trains, ships, mail vehicles, passenger cars, etc.
4 Basic Conditions
4.1 Various public textiles shall comply with the provisions and requirements of GB 18401.
4.2 Textiles used in tourist hotels shall comply with the provisions and requirements of GB/T 22800.
5 Quality Requirements
5.1 General Provisions
The washing quality of public textiles shall meet the requirements of SB/T 10625.
5.2 Basic Requirements
5.2.1 Whiteness
White fabrics after washing with water should show a whiteness value greater than 70 under natural light.
5.2.2 Color Fastness
Colored fabrics should have a washing color fastness greater than grade 4; dry rubbing color fastness should be greater than grade 4.
5.2.3 Cleanliness
Clean, free of stains, odors, color transfer, and color mixing.
5.2.4 Hygiene Indicators
5.2.4.1 Textiles in direct contact with guests' bodies shall comply with the corresponding standards.
5.2.4.2 Washed towels shall meet the following standards:
- Total bacteria count: <200 cfu/25㎝2;
- Escherichia coli: Not detectable/50㎝2;
- Pathogenic bacteria: Not detectable/50㎝2.
5.2.4.3 The pH value of textiles in wet state after washing shall be between 6.5 and 7.5.
5.3 Bath Towels and Similar Textiles
Mainly includes hand towels, floor towels, face towels, bath towels, bathrobes, etc., used in guest rooms, catering, leisure, and bathing.
5.3.1 Appearance
After washing, the fabric should appear naturally flat without deformation or wrinkles. The color should be uniform, and the texture should be soft and fluffy. No pulls or damage.
5.3.2 Natural Wear
Colored towels washed no more than 120 times (including 120 times) should not have broken loops, deformation, base exposure, or fading; first-class quality white towels washed no more than 80 times (including 80 times) should not have broken loops, deformation, base exposure, yellowing, or graying damage.
5.4 Bed Textiles for Guest Rooms
Mainly includes bed linens used in guest rooms such as bed sheets, duvet covers, duvet inserts, pillowcases, pillow inserts, mattress pads, cushions, and other bedding products.
5.4.1 Appearance
After the fabric is washed:
— Bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases: The fabric surface should be smooth and flat, without wrinkles, fuzz, or damage.
— Duvet inserts, mattress pads: The filling fibers should be soft, evenly distributed, with good elasticity and thermal insulation performance; the filling should have no clumps, no leakage, and no damage.
— Pillow inserts: The filling fibers should be soft, evenly distributed, breathable, without clumps; the cover should be flat and wrinkle-free.
5.4.2 Natural wear
Cotton bed sheets, duvet covers, and pillowcases with yarn count greater than 40s should not have broken yarns, pilling, fabric tears, or edge damage after washing no more than 80 times (including 80 times); cotton bed sheets and duvet covers with yarn count greater than 60s should not have such damage after washing no more than 120 times (including 120 times).
5.5 Textile products for catering
Mainly includes fabrics used for table skirts, tablecloths, napkins, chair covers, etc.
5.5.1 Appearance
After the fabric is washed,
— Tablecloths, napkins: should be flat, crisp, with moderate sizing;
— Small towels: should be soft, highly absorbent, without pulled threads;
— Chair covers: should be flat, crisp, wrinkle-free, with uniform color, no abrasion, no scratches.
5.5.2 Natural wear
Cotton tablecloths and napkins should not have deformation, pilling, pulled threads, or fraying after washing no more than 80 times (including 80 times); synthetic fiber tablecloths and napkins should not have damage after washing no more than 150 times (including 150 times).
6 Test methods
6.1 Whiteness measurement of public textiles is performed according to GB/T 8424.2.
6.2 Colorfastness to washing of colored fabrics is performed according to GB/T 3921.3.
6.3 Colorfastness to rubbing of public textiles is performed according to GB/T 3920.
6.4 Bacterial testing of public textiles is performed according to GB 15982.
6.5 pH value measurement of public textiles is performed according to GB/T 7573.
6.6 Measurement of morphological changes of public textiles is performed according to GB/T 8630.
