Main equipment includes:
Fully automatic dry cleaning machine (dry cleaner)
Automatic washing and dehydration machine (washer)
Dryer (clothes dryer)
Automatic ironing machine
Automatic portrait machine, stain remover, and ironing equipment, etc.;
In hotel planning and design, the laundry room design should consider multiple aspects such as service process, business management, safety, and convenience. The general principles to follow are:
1. The laundry room should be isolated from guest rooms or located far from the hotel's public areas.
Because:
1. Noise from laundry equipment (such as washers, air compressors, ventilation equipment, etc.) during operation may affect guests.
2. The laundry room contains many detergents, stain removers, and other odorous or toxic chemicals, so it is necessary to prevent chemical odors from affecting guests.
2. The laundry room should be located near the equipment rooms.
Because:
1. Laundry work involves cold water, hot water, steam, drainage, electricity, ventilation, and exhaust at various stages. Being close to equipment areas facilitates connection, installation, supply, and use of all equipment.
2. Laundry equipment near the equipment area is beneficial for equipment management and maintenance; the proximity of pipelines effectively reduces energy consumption between lines.
3. The laundry room should be located in areas convenient for material flow and personnel passage.
This is because:
1. To meet the needs of linen handover and distribution with guest rooms, kitchens, and other business departments.
2. Staff uniforms need to be changed daily, resulting in a large flow of personnel.
3. There is a large amount of guest laundry and external laundry work on hotel floors.
4. The laundry room design should facilitate the installation of drainage, ventilation, and dust removal equipment:
1. Laundry equipment uses a large amount of water and requires high drainage facility standards. If installed in the basement, a sewage well and pump must be provided. Additionally, if detergent content in sewage exceeds discharge standards, sewage cannot be discharged directly into outdoor pipelines; sewage treatment equipment must be installed according to environmental protection requirements.
2. During washing, linen produces many fabric fibers, so exhaust and dust removal equipment must be installed to reduce pollution to the hotel environment and dust inhalation by laundry staff.
5. The setting and installation of the laundry room and its equipment should comply with fire safety regulations:
1. Most hotel laundry rooms are located in basements or annex buildings, so design and installation of all system equipment must comply with fire safety regulations.
2. The laundry room temperature is relatively high, and there are many fabric fibers such as linen, so matching fire safety equipment should be installed.
6. The laundry room can be divided into several areas such as guest clothes service, linen receiving and storage, linen sorting, washing area, dry cleaning area, and ironing area.
7. Laundry equipment:
1. Automatic dry cleaning machine (dry cleaner). Suitable for washing cotton, wool, woolen, velvet, synthetic fibers (excluding chlorofiber, artificial leather, and gold velvet), blankets, fur, down, leather, and fur.
Modern dry cleaners use computer control with a high degree of automation. Various valves mostly use pneumatic or electric control. The entire process including liquid addition, circulation filtration, liquid discharge, dehydration, and drying can be automated. Internal structures such as the dry cleaning cylinder and drum are mostly made of stainless steel.
2. Automatic washing and dehydration machine (washer). Suitable for washing guest room bed sheets, towels, floor mats, curtain fabrics, restaurant tablecloths, napkins, lounge fabrics, staff uniforms, and cleaning cloths.
The automatic washing and dehydration machine is controlled by a programmable microcomputer with a high degree of automation. The cylinder uses a full suspension structure, resulting in low vibration and advantages such as safety, stability, and good shock resistance. It can automatically or manually control water level, washing cycle, rinsing times, and dehydration time. Various valves use pneumatic control, which is fast, reliable, and easy to maintain.
3. Automatic dryer. Suitable for drying various types of linen and uniforms after washing and dehydration.
Features: automatic control of drying time, automatic forward and reverse rotation drying, automatic stop with signal when finished. Equipped with a large tempered glass window to monitor drying status at any time. Most automatic dryers are upright cabinets with compact structure and small footprint.
4. Automatic ironing machine: suitable for washing guest room bed sheets, duvet covers, restaurant tablecloths, and other fabrics.
Features: uses variable frequency speed control technology, with steam and electric heating functions. Suitable ironing speed and mode can be selected according to different fabric needs and ironing conditions. Equipped with dehumidification device and forward/reverse operation functions.
Additionally, ironing machines with both ironing and folding functions can be selected.
5. Automatic folding machine: used in conjunction with automatic ironing machines, suitable for guest room bed sheets, duvet covers, restaurant tablecloths, etc., greatly improving work efficiency.
Features: computer-controlled, the number of longitudinal and transverse folds can be freely edited according to fabric width and thickness. Has self-diagnosis function, can double the ironing and folding capacity for small linens, and reduce energy consumption. Equipped with self-diagnosis, safety protection, and inspection point self-maintenance functions.
6. Ironing equipment. Mainly includes stain removers, automatic portrait machines, clamp irons, work clothes clamp machines, dehumidifiers, etc. Features:
a. Stain remover: has vacuum dehumidification function. Uses volute fan and is equipped with stain removal gun, water spray gun, air*, steam spray gun, etc., to meet the needs of removing various stains.
b. Automatic Portrait Machine: Used for shaping and setting various uniforms.
c. Pressing Machine: Used for shaping and ironing seams and collars of wool, synthetic fibers, and woolen fabrics. It can also be used to press small areas of tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs, etc., mainly for ironing fabrics after dry cleaning.
d. Workwear Pressing Machine: Used for shaping and ironing seams and collars of pure cotton and blended fabrics. It can also be used to press small areas of tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs, etc., mainly for ironing fabrics after washing.
e. Dehumidifier: Mainly serves as an auxiliary device supporting the pressing machine and stain removal table. Based on the above introduction, in hotel planning and design, the design of the laundry room and the selection of laundry equipment should:
1. Select laundry equipment and design the laundry room layout and functions according to the overall hotel planning and design;
2. Design and construct supporting systems for the laundry room (such as cold water, hot water, drainage systems, steam supply system, power and lighting systems, air conditioning and ventilation systems, fire protection systems, etc.) based on the laundry room design.
Finally, the design and planning of the laundry room must comply with various regulations on construction, installation, environmental protection, and fire safety to facilitate hotel operation management and ensure the health of hotel staff.
