Use and Maintenance of Slot Type Calender

Daily operation procedure:
Turn on the power, check if the safety device is functioning properly (note, the pressure roller should not be placed directly into the slot when the machine is cold); slowly open the steam valve, heat for about 20 to 30 minutes (see the above instructions);
Lower the pressure roller, wax and clean the slot surface with a clean wax cloth (see the instructions below):
Set the working speed according to the temperature reached by heating, the type of fabric, and moisture content (generally for cotton fabrics and multi-layer fabrics, choose a lower ironing speed; for synthetic or thin fabrics, the ironing speed can be higher);
Smoothly feed the fabric end into the ironing slot and adjust parameters according to the ironing effect;
After work is completed, perform cleaning and waxing again; close the steam valve, if equipped with a bypass valve, open it to discharge condensate; keep the drum dehumidified for about a few minutes to remove moisture from the ironing felt and keep it dry;
Turn off the power and gas supply.
Lubrication and cleaning method: Cleaning the slot surface and waxing is an essential routine maintenance task for slot ironing:
When waxing, first evenly sprinkle 60 to a certain amount of wax powder into the interlayer of the clean wax cloth,
Generally, cleaning and waxing should be done every 2 to 5 hours of work; when ironing starched linen, the slot surface should be cleaned about every 1.2 hours (wax powder can be omitted at this time); also, when finishing ironing starched linen and then ironing unstarched linen, the slot surface should be cleaned with a clean wax cloth;
During normal machine use, if wrinkles appear on the linen, the slot surface should be cleaned and waxed promptly. Frequent waxing can also extend the service life of the slot and felt;
For light dirt, it can be removed with a cleaning cloth combined with a wax cloth; for more severe dirt, special cleaning agents are needed; if the dirt is very severe, manual cleaning must be done when the machine drum is raised to maintenance position (be careful not to damage the slot surface).
Maintenance of the slot roller condition: The condition of the slot roller directly affects the normal performance of the slot ironing work, attention must be paid to the following aspects:
Maintain even pressure before and after the slot roller to avoid pressure peaks on the slot surface affecting ironing quality;
Maintain even left and right pressure on the slot and roller to prevent linen deviation; the cylinder back pressure at both ends of the pressure roller can be adjusted to make it even;
Maintain the accurate diameter of the pressure roller (
Maintain normal steam pressure (heating temperature); when steam pressure is less than 0.6MPa, the slot surface cannot fully "open" to the specified size, forced operation may cause ironing faults.
Steam system maintenance: The normal operation of the steam system mainly depends on whether the steam trap is in good working condition; improper maintenance will cause huge energy waste. Advanced slot ironing machines control by setting multiple temperature monitoring points, mainly in two ways:
Monitor the inlet and outlet temperature of the heating slot; the temperature difference of the steam inlet and outlet of a normally operating heating slot should not exceed
Monitor the temperature difference at both ends of the steam trap; the normal temperature difference is 5 - 10
Because the steam trap plays a key role in slot ironing, it is recommended to use a float-type steam trap; if an ordinary thermodynamic steam trap is installed, a bypass drain valve must be installed;
Pay attention to timely cleaning of the filter and ensure the steam quality of the main steam trap and steam source supply.
Transmission system maintenance: Due to the long continuous working time of slot ironing and the high working environment temperature, the transmission system maintenance must pay attention to the following points:
The reducer must have its lubricant changed after the first 300 hours of operation, the second time at 1000 hours, and thereafter every 2000 working hours;
Regularly check the oil level of the reducer; if the oil level is too low, add lubricant of the same brand;
Regularly check the sealing of the reducer joint and shaft end; if there is serious oil leakage, the cause must be identified and appropriate measures taken.
Regularly check the wear of the V-belt, maintain proper tension but do not over-tighten;
Regularly check if the vent plug is unobstructed.
