Preliminary Review Meeting for Leather Care Worker Standards Held in Beijing
On May 27, 2010, the National Occupational Skill Testing Authority of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security held the preliminary review meeting for the "National Occupational Skill Standard for Leather Care Workers" in Beijing. The meeting was organized and hosted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce. Experts from the laundry industry, leather industry research, standard formulation, and occupational skill testing fields were invited to participate.
The Standards Department of the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center assigned a dedicated person to preside over the preliminary review meeting. At the meeting, experts conducted an in-depth review and revision of the preliminary draft of the "National Occupational Skill Standard for Leather Care Workers." They discussed the draft word by word from multiple aspects including occupational functions, work content, and skill requirements, making partial adjustments to the framework of the draft to better align the standard's content with regulatory requirements and industry realities, laying a solid foundation for the next stage of revision and improvement.
Since the development of the National Occupational Skill Standard for Leather Care Workers began in December 2009, after five months of research and drafting and multiple revisions, the preliminary draft of the standard was formed. After this preliminary review meeting, the drafting team will further revise the standard. Following the revisions, the National Occupational Skill Testing Authority of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security will organize the final review meeting in June to finalize the National Occupational Skill Standard for Leather Care Workers, which will then be promulgated and implemented nationwide.
