This standard, based on the tourism industry standards of the People's Republic of China (issued by the National Tourism Administration of the People's Republic of China), specifies the varieties and specifications of star-rated hotels, restaurants, and guest room textiles.
Section 1 Requirements for Guest Textiles in Star-Rated Hotels and Restaurants
1 Requirements for Guest Room Textiles
1.1 Towels
Primarily white cotton knit, colorfast, no colored spots or color differences, soft to the touch, good water absorption, no stains, no damage defects.
1.1.1 Bath Towels
Long loops, sweat-absorbent, good warmth retention.
1.1.2 Face Towels
Plump, thick, with moderate weft density not too tight.
1.1.3 Square Towels
Good sweat absorption performance.
1.1.4 Medium Towels
Dense texture, slightly longer than face towels, other quality requirements same as face towels.
1.1.5 Floor Towels (Foot Mats)
Thick and warm.
1.1.6 Bathrobes (Bath Gowns)
Soft, good sweat absorption performance.
1.2 Bed Linen
1.2.1 Duvet Covers
Pure cotton, mainly bleached white, clean and soft, good breathability, no damage defects, no stains.
1.2.2 Bed Sheets
Mainly pure cotton bleached fabric, smooth surface, good breathability, no defects, no stains.
1.2.3 Pillowcases
Pure cotton, mainly white, soft texture, wear-resistant, no defects, no stains.
1.2.4 Blankets
Mainly solid colors, soft to the touch, good insulation, treated for flame retardancy and mothproofing, colorfast, no stains.
1.2.5 Thin Quilts
High-quality cotton batting, pure cotton fabric, soft and comfortable, good warmth retention, no stains, no damage.
1.2.6 Bed Covers
Full and neat appearance, uniform color, neat seams, no broken threads or skipped stitches, no fraying, no stains, colorfast, flame retardant treated, styles include panel and split types.
1.2.7 Bed Skirts
Attractive and neat, mainly pure cotton or decorative fabric, must be flame retardant treated.
1.2.8 Curtains
Good light-blocking performance, decorative and attractive, easy to open and close, must have pleats, neat, no damage, strong drape, flame retardant treated.
1.3 Tablecloths and Napkins
Cotton fabric, mainly white, no stains, starched and ironed.
Section 2 Standards for Guest Room Textiles in One-Star and Two-Star Hotels
2 Towels
Towel yarn count 21s. Ground warp 21×2, pile warp 21×2, weft yarn 21.
2.1.1 Bath Towels
2 pieces per room. Size 1200mm×600mm, 40g.
2.1.2 Face Towels
2 pieces per room. Size 550mm×250mm, 100g.
2.1.3 Foot Towels
1 piece per room. Size 700mm×350mm, 280g.
2.2 Bedding
2.2.1 Bed Sheets
1 piece per bed, yarn count not less than 20s, warp and weft density index above 6060, size at least 2700mm×1830mm.
2.2.2 Pillowcases
2 pieces per bed. Yarn count not less than 20s, warp and weft density index above 6060.
2.2.3 Blankets
Blended wool fabric, 1 piece per bed. Size 2300mm×1600mm, weight above 2000g.
2.2.4 Bed Covers
1 cover per bed. Mainly pure cotton and decorative fabric, flame retardant treated, size 3000mm×1900mm.
2.2.5 Thin Quilts (Stamped Quilts)
1 piece per bed. Size 2000mm×1500mm, weight below 2300g.
2.2.6 Duvet Covers
Yarn count not less than 20s, warp and weft density index above 6060, size according to thin quilt dimensions.
2.2.7 Curtains
Made and installed in two layers: white sheer curtains and decorative fabric.
Section 3 Standards for Guest Room Textiles in Three-Star Hotels
3 Towels
Towel yarn count 21s. Ground warp 21×2, pile warp 21×2, weft yarn 21.
3.1.1 Bath Towels
2 pieces per room. Specifications 1300mm×700mm, 500g, with store name and logo.
3.1.2 Face Towel
2 pieces per room. Specifications 600mm×300mm, 120g, with store name and logo.
3.1.3 Square Towel
2 pieces per room. Specifications 300mm, 2 pieces per room 300mm, 50g.
3.1.4 Foot Mat
1 piece per room. Specifications 700mm×400mm, 300g, with store name and logo.
3.2 Bedding
3.2.1 Bed Skirt
1 skirt per bed. Less than 30mm from the ground, treated with flame retardant.
3.2.2 Bed Sheet
1 piece per bed. Yarn count 32, warp and weft density 6060 or above, specifications 2700mm×1900mm or above.
3.2.3 Pillowcase
2 pieces per bed. Yarn count not less than 32, warp and weft density 6060 or above, specifications 750mm×450mm.
3.2.4 1 piece per bed. All wool product, specifications 2400mm×1800mm, 2100g or above.
3.2.5 Bedspread
1 piece per bed. Mainly cotton and decorative fabric, must have quilted pattern, specifications 3000mm×2000mm.
3.2.6 Thin Cotton Quilt (Quilted Blanket)
Specifications 2000mm×1500mm, under 2000g.
3.2.7 Duvet Cover
Yarn count not less than 20, warp and weft density 6060 or above, specifications according to thin quilt size.
3.2.8 Curtains
Made and installed with three layers: white sheer curtain, blackout layer, and decorative fabric, must have mechanical opening device.
Section 4 Standards for Guest Room Textiles in Four-Star and Five-Star Hotels
4 Towels
Towel yarn count 32. Ground warp yarn 32×2, pile warp yarn 32×2, weft yarn 32.
4.1.1 Bath Towel
2 pieces per room. Specifications 1400mm×700mm, 600g, with store name and logo.
4.1.2 Face Towel
2 pieces per room. Specifications 700mm×350mm, 140g, with store name and logo.
4.1.3 Square Towel
4 pieces per room. Specifications 320mm×320mm, 50g or above, with store logo.
4.1.4 Medium Towel
2 pieces per room. Specifications 1000mm×400mm, 180g or above, with store name and logo.
4.1.5 Floor Mat
1 piece per room. Specifications 800mm×450mm, 400g, with store name or logo.
4.1.6 Bathrobe
1 piece per bed. Made of 100% cotton towel fabric.
4.2 Bedding
4.2.1 Bed Skirt
1 skirt per bed. Must reach the floor, treated with flame retardant.
4.2.2 Bed Sheet
1 piece per bed. Yarn count 35 or above, warp and weft density 9080 or above, specifications 2800mm×2030mm or above.
4.2.3 Pillowcase
2 pieces per bed. Yarn count 35 or above, warp and weft density 9080 or above, specifications 350mm×500mm.
4.2.4 Blanket
1 piece per bed. Fine spun all-wool product. Specifications 2300mm×2000mm, 2500g or above, treated with flame retardant.
4.2.5 Bedspread
1 cover per bed. Made of fine spun cotton, decorative fabric or silk fabric, treated with flame retardant.
4.2.6 Thin Cotton Quilt (Quilted Blanket)
1 piece per bed. Specifications 2100mm×1700mm, under 2000g.
4.2.7 Duvet Cover
Yarn count not less than 28, warp and weft density 7060 or above, specifications according to thin cotton quilt size.
4.3 Tablecloths and Napkins
Use high-count, high-density tablecloths and napkins.
