114 victims identified in Tianjin Port explosion accident

Tianjin, August 17 (Reporter Wang Doudou) At 11 a.m. on the 17th, the seventh press conference was held for the "8.12" Ruihai Company hazardous materials warehouse major fire and explosion accident at Tianjin Port. Gong Jiansheng, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, said that as of 9 a.m. on the 17th, a total of 114 victims had been found, 54 identities confirmed, including 16 public security firefighters, 23 Tianjin Port firefighters, 5 police officers, and 10 other personnel; 60 identities remain unconfirmed.
As more victims' bodies have been found, the number of missing persons has decreased to 70, including 8 public security firefighters, 56 Tianjin Port firefighters, and 6 police officers. Since there is overlap between the missing persons and unidentified bodies, DNA comparison will be expedited.
In addition, currently 698 people are hospitalized for treatment, including 20 critically injured and 37 severely injured.
