    The 2012 National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Excellence Promotion Expert Review Meeting Held in Beijing
According to the Ministry of Commerce's "Notice on Carrying Out Quality Service Activities in the National Trade Service Sector in 2012" and the plan of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee's "2012 National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Excellence Promotion Activity," on July 3, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee organized the "2012 National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Excellence Promotion Expert Review Meeting" in Beijing. The expert group members conducted a careful and objective evaluation of the three activities: "National Well-Known Brands in the Laundry Industry," "National Trusted Products in the Laundry Industry," and "Outstanding Managers in the National Laundry Industry." Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, and the main staff responsible for the excellence promotion activities explained the overview of each item and the participating units' situations, answering experts' inquiries at the meeting.
After five stages of preliminary review, online voting, questionnaire survey, expert review, and comprehensive evaluation, the final results of the "2012 National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Excellence Promotion Activity" will be officially announced at the "2012 China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Awards Ceremony" in September.
        China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Awards Ceremony to be Held in Shanghai
The first "China Laundry and Dyeing Industry Awards Ceremony," aimed at recognizing and announcing seven awards including China's well-known laundry industry brands, outstanding managers in the national laundry industry, trusted products in the national laundry industry, meritorious figures in the national laundry industry, outstanding contributors in the national laundry industry, innovative figures in the national laundry industry, and winners of the national laundry industry knowledge competition, is scheduled for the afternoon of September 24 at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center. This grand event has attracted great attention from domestic and foreign laundry industry professionals and is unprecedented in scale, authority, and influence in the history of the laundry industry. The awards ceremony is an important event hosted by the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee to implement the Ministry of Commerce's "2012 Quality Service Activities in the Trade Service Industry." Guests attending the ceremony will include leaders from the Ministry of Commerce, the China Commercial Federation, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee, and the most well-known entrepreneurs and experts in the national laundry industry.
        Ministry of Commerce Laundry Industry Standards Review Meeting Held
The Ministry of Commerce Laundry Industry Standards Review Meeting was held on July 12 at the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee. The meeting reviewed four domestic trade industry standards jointly drafted by the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee and the Beijing Laundry Industry Association, Shanghai Laundry Industry Association, Nanjing Laundry Industry Association, Beijing Funait Laundry Service Co., Ltd., Tianjin Chaoli Laundry Co., Ltd., and Qingdao Jieshen Laundry Co., Ltd.: "Laundry Industry Terminology," "Quality Requirements for Ironing Suits and Trousers," "Technical Specifications for Laundry Service Contracts," and "Quality Requirements for Cleaning Public Textiles." Liang Zhaoshan, Researcher of the Ministry of Commerce Trade Service Department, Dong Bo, Deputy Director of the Circulation Industry Development Department, and experts from the Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei Laundry Associations and some enterprises attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Pan Wei, Secretary-General of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee. Researcher Liang Zhaoshan and Deputy Director Dong Bo successively put forward requirements for industry standard formulation and specific review work and participated in the review and revision of the four standards. The meeting elected Wang Xueren, President of the Beijing Laundry Association, as the head of the review group, who presided over the review. Experts reviewed the content of the four standards clause by clause, proposed amendments, and unanimously agreed that the four standards referenced relevant domestic and foreign standards and norms, complied with the GB/T1.1—2009 format requirements, and possessed strong scientific, advanced, and operable characteristics.
The Secretariat of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee will further revise, supplement, and improve the standard texts based on the experts' discussed amendments at the meeting, prepare the approval drafts and related materials, and complete the approval procedures with the Ministry of Commerce according to the process.
        "2012 National Laundry Technology Exchange and Demonstration Conference" Held in Xi'an
On July 17, 2012, the "2012 National Laundry Technology Exchange and Demonstration Conference," hosted by the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee and co-organized by the Shaanxi Laundry Industry Association, was held on schedule in Xi'an. The meeting received high attention from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and Shaanxi Laundry Industry Association, and also received strong support from Shanghai Hangxing Laundry Machinery Group Co., Ltd. and some local enterprises. The meeting attracted more than 100 industry professionals from Beijing, Shanghai, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, Henan, Shandong, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hunan, Fujian, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hangzhou, and other provinces and cities. Attending the opening ceremony were Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee; Wang Houzeng, Executive Deputy Director; Wang She'an, Deputy Inspector of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce; Guo Changxi, Deputy Director of the Exhibition Industry Development Management Office; Yang Maoshe, Deputy Inspector of the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Commerce; An Jianyong, Director of the Trade Service Management Office; Liu Zhichao, President of the Shaanxi Laundry Industry Association; Ren Fengmei, Li Jinxuan, Lin Jun, Huang Zhenyang, Deputy Directors of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee; and Deputy Secretaries-General Liu Yunli, Yang Ze, Chen Aihua.
The two-day meeting invited Mr. Wu Jianjun and Mr. Yang Mingjun from Shanghai Hangxing Laundry Machinery Group to introduce "Development Trends of Central Laundry Plants" and "Methods for Selecting Laundry Equipment." Mr. Li Yuchen from Shenyang Oriental White Dove lectured on "The Importance of Front Desk Service and Customer Dispute Handling." Professor Li Qian from Xi'an University of Technology spoke on "Identification and Washing Methods of Textile Fibers." Taiwanese laundry industry expert Li Jingjin lectured on "Prevention and Restoration of Laundry Accidents." Well-known expert Qi Datong from the China Commercial Federation Laundry Industry lectured on "Identification and Removal Techniques of Difficult Stains." The rich learning content and flexible interactive methods were actively participated in and warmly welcomed by the trainees. Before the meeting, Pan Wei and other Laundry Committee leaders, along with some local association leaders, inspected laundry enterprises such as Xi'an Qindu Deli and Xi'an Zhengzhang. The "Laundry Family" banquet held promoted emotional exchanges among the trainees.
        China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee Appoints Additional Deputy Directors and Deputy Secretaries-General
To further improve the work efficiency of the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee and enable it to play a more active and effective leading role in industry development, after research by the Laundry Committee and consultation with relevant local associations and enterprises, and with approval from the relevant departments of the China Commercial Federation, the Laundry Professional Committee decided to appoint the following deputy directors and deputy secretaries-general:

        The Laundry Committee's high-end inspection activities will take place between October and November.
The Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce plans to organize two sessions of high-level visits for the Chinese (Mainland) laundry industry personnel to Taiwan and Japan respectively between October and November this year. Among them, the Mainland laundry industry's senior inspection group visiting Taiwan is tentatively scheduled from October 21 to 29, 2012, and will arrange visits to the famous Taiwan Giant large-scale automated laundry factory, Yibeijie laundry chain central factory, Taiwan's largest hospital laundry factory, and hold cross-strait laundry industry senior exchange meetings; the Chinese laundry industry's senior inspection group visiting Japan from November 30 to December 7 will focus on visiting the internationally renowned Hakuyosha laundry company's household laundry, leather clothing cleaning, luxury goods care factories, Japan's super-large water washing factories, hospital laundry factories, and also combine visits to the Tokyo Laundry Industry Exhibition.
        Laundry Committee organizes participation in standardization knowledge and standard drafting training class.
The 2012 Standardization Knowledge and Standard Drafting Training Class of the China General Chamber of Commerce was held on August 21-22 in the CGCC conference room. The main participants were personnel involved in laundry industry standard formulation organized by the Laundry Committee and the National Laundry Standardization Technical Committee, along with more than fifty related personnel from the other seven life service industry committees under CGCC. Leaders and some members of the Laundry Committee and Laundry Standard Committee including Pan Wei, Wang Houzeng, Wang Xueran, Wang Chaoyi, Ma Xiangliang, Yin Xiaojun, as well as committee members, experts, and staff of the Laundry Standard Committee, and standard staff from laundry enterprises such as Funait, Rongchang, Hanhwang, and Riguang participated in this training. Deputy Director Wang Desheng of the Circulation Development Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Vice President Wang Min of CGCC, Researcher Liang Zhaoshan of the Service Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, and Deputy Director Dong Bo of the Circulation Development Department spoke at the opening ceremony. Deputy Director Wang Desheng proposed the following requirements regarding the work of the technical committee and association: 1. Positioning must be high. The technical committee is engaged in a highly public welfare cause, which requires us to maintain a high stance in undertaking and organizing the revision of national and industry standards; 2. Emphasize coordination. From the concept analysis of standards, it is clear that coordination is the fundamental attribute of standards, so the concept of "coordination" must be integrated throughout the formulation and revision of standards; 3. Openness and transparency. To ensure fairness and justice, enhance and ensure the credibility of standards, and reflect the scientific, reasonable, and effective nature of standards, the principle of openness and transparency must be jointly observed by relevant parties after standards are issued; 4. Emphasize text quality.
Researcher Liang Zhaoshan also put forward the following guidance on standardization construction work: first, accelerate the establishment and improvement of the service industry standard system; second, strengthen the formulation and implementation of standards in key industries; third, deeply carry out various activities to cooperate with the implementation of standards; fourth, strengthen the construction of the professional title system for standard work.
This training was mainly conducted by Director Wang Changlin of the National Standard Technical Review Department, who gave detailed explanations on standard drafting and related requirements, and the requirements for drafting standards based on international standards. During the training, Wang Changlin patiently explained various detailed issues of standard formulation to the trainees using simplified language and vivid examples, and interacted with the trainees on individual issues, benefiting everyone greatly. The training concluded with an assessment awarding the "Standardization Knowledge and Standard Drafting Training Certificate."
