On July 1, 2011, the Ministry of Commerce held a symposium on the work of associations related to the life service industry. Wang Shuyuan, Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, and Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General, attended the meeting. At the meeting, Director Wang briefly introduced the overall situation of the laundry and dyeing industry and the work approach of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee. Secretary-General Pan Wei gave a detailed introduction on the development status of the laundry and dyeing industry, standard formulation, and statistical work. Pan Wei said that after 20 years of rapid development, China's laundry and dyeing enterprises have made great contributions to improving people's quality of life, solving employment, and promoting social harmony. However, during the development process, especially in recent years, the continuous rise in costs such as water, electricity, steam, personnel, and rent, the gradual aging of enterprise equipment requiring replacement and upgrading, and the need for capital introduction for scale development remain key issues facing laundry and dyeing enterprises and continue to affect industry development. In cultivating large-scale enterprises and establishing an industry standard system, strong support from the Ministry of Commerce is still needed.
