President Zhang Zhigang's Inscription for "China Laundry" Journal
       Zhang Zhigang, Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the China General Chamber of Commerce, recently gave a special interview to "China Laundry" journal, fully affirming the work of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and gladly inscribed for the "China Laundry" journal: Comprehensive Launch of the Promotion and Training Work for Leather Care Workers by the Laundry and Dyeing Committee
        After the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security approved leather care workers as a new occupation, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee actively promoted and trained leather care workers. First, the first professional meeting on leather care was held in Beijing from December 2 to 3, 2010. Nearly twenty leather care experts from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Ningxia, Fujian, Changchun, and other places attended. Wang Shuyuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the China General Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee; Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General; Executive Deputy Directors Shu Qi and Wang Houzeng; Deputy Directors Lin Jun and Xin Yubo attended the meeting. The meeting analyzed the current status of leather care in China and discussed the promotion and training of the leather care profession. Second, the Leather Care Office was established. Seven leather experts—Xin Yubo, Bao Guanghua, Yu Jinshan, Zhang Xiang, Cao Dongning, Chen Changzeng, and Lin Jun—were appointed as part-time deputy directors of the Leather Care Office to strengthen special leather care work. Third, the compilation of the "National Training Manual for Leather Care Workers" was launched. On January 11, 2011, a meeting for the manual compilation was held in Beijing. Eleven experts from the national leather care industry attended. Gao Wen, editor from the Human Resources and Social Security Publishing House, provided guidance on the purpose, principles, and content of the textbook. The work tasks of the compilation team members were clarified at the meeting.

Issuance and Implementation of the "National Occupational Skill Standards for Leather Care Workers"
       The "National Occupational Skill Standards for Leather Care Workers" was proposed and organized for compilation by the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and was approved and issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in December 2010. This marks the establishment of national standards for the new occupation of leather care workers.

Top Ten Events in China's Laundry and Dyeing Industry in 2010
       1. On August 28, the China General Chamber of Commerce Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee successfully completed its re-election. The new council includes 112 member units, 68 executive director units, and 32 director units. Wang Shuyuan was re-elected as the second-term director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee;
       2. In December, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security issued the "National Occupational Skill Standards for Leather Care Workers";
       3. On September 13, the "Guiding Opinions of the Ministry of Commerce on Accelerating the Development of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry," drafted with the participation of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, was released;
       4. From August 26 to 28, a series of events including the "2010 (11th) China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition," the "First National Commercial Service Skills Competition Laundry and Dyeing Professional Skills Competition," and the "National Laundry Technology and Management Lecture Demonstration" were successfully held in Shanghai;
       5. On December 3, the Leather Care Professional Office of the China General Chamber of Commerce Laundry and Dyeing Committee was established in Beijing;
       6. On November 10, Jiangsu Haishi Machinery Group held a demonstration and launch event, announcing the successful development of the first domestically produced tunnel washing machine (Washing Dragon) by Jiangsu Haishi Machinery Group;
       7. From May to October, during the Shanghai World Expo, Shanghai Funait Laundry Service Co., Ltd., Shanghai Elephant King Laundry Management Co., Ltd., Shanghai Green Ring Laundry Co., Ltd., Shanghai Zhengzhang Industrial Co., Ltd., and other Shanghai laundry enterprises provided high-quality services to the Expo, cleaning millions of garments without errors, bringing honor to the laundry and dyeing industry;
       8. In November, Guangdong Tiantian Laundry Company became the designated service unit for the Asian Games, and Chairman Lu Zhiji was honored as a torchbearer for the 16th Asian Games. During the Games, they provided specialized laundry services, washing 120,000 pieces of clothing with zero complaints and received high praise.
       9. In August, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee announced the results of the second national survey on well-known brands in the laundry and dyeing industry. Thirty-three laundry service enterprises, eight washing equipment enterprises, and seven laundry chemical auxiliary enterprises were awarded the title of "Second National Well-Known Brands in the Laundry and Dyeing Industry" through online voting, questionnaires, and comprehensive evaluation;
       10. In February, three laundry and dyeing industry experts—Wu Jingmiao, Qi Datong, and Jiang Xiling—were selected for the first time as representatives of the laundry and dyeing industry in the "Beijing Commercial Service Industry Chinese Traditional Craftsmanship Skills Master" selection, becoming "Masters of Chinese Traditional Skills and Crafts" in Beijing.

Laundry and Dyeing Committee Conducts First National Price Information Survey of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry
       To provide timely industry consultation services to consumers, operators, and relevant national departments, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee conducted the first "National Price Information Survey of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry" in December. The survey results were published on China Laundry Network in January 2011. Based on the survey of washing service prices and washing chemical sales prices in more than 20 provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jilin, Shanxi, Guangdong, Sichuan, Xinjiang, and Hainan, and after scientific statistics, three types of price information were formed: washing service prices for daily clothing, washing service prices for public textiles, and sales prices for washing chemical products. This is the first time such an industry price information survey and publication has been conducted in China, with far-reaching impact and significance.

Plan for the 7th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition Confirmed
       With approval from relevant departments, the plan for the 7th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition has been confirmed. The competition includes six events: front desk service, stain removal, leather garment care, leather goods care, garment ironing, and clothing mending. The finals will be held from August 4 to 6 at the "China International Exhibition Center" in Beijing.

Laundry and Dyeing Committee's 2011 New Year Gathering Held in Beijing
       The 2011 New Year gathering for deputy directors and some experts of the China General Chamber of Commerce Laundry and Dyeing Committee was held in Beijing on January 7. More than 30 leaders and experts from the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and the Beijing Laundry and Dyeing Association attended. Wang Shuyuan, Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee; Professor Wen Lisheng, Director of the Expert Committee; Wang Xueran, President of the Beijing Laundry and Dyeing Association; and Xin Yubo, Chairman of Hanhuang Weiye Group, successively delivered speeches. The event was hosted by Beijing Hanhuang Weiye Leather Cleaning and Care Chain Service Co., Ltd.

Significant Results Achieved in Promoting the China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition in Japan
From December 3 to 5, 2010, the head of the International Department of the Organizing Committee of the China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition went to Tokyo, Japan to participate in the "Clean Life Outlook 21 - Japan Laundry Industry Comprehensive Exhibition," and conducted comprehensive promotion of the "2011 12th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition." The head of the International Department visited all exhibiting companies to understand the current situation of the Japanese laundry market, introduced the huge market demand and development status of China's laundry and dyeing industry, and publicized the preparation of the "12th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition" to be held in Beijing from August 4 to 6, 2011. More than 10 Japanese laundry and dyeing companies expressed their intention to participate in the "12th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition" to further expand the Chinese laundry market through this platform.
 
The Secretariat of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee further clarified departmental responsibilities and newly appointed department heads.
Liu Yunli was appointed as Deputy Secretary-General and Office Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, Lai Qianqan as Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Comprehensive Business Department, Li Shuyu as Deputy Director of the Training Department, and Feng Jinna as Deputy Director of the Information Department of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee.

The Laundry and Dyeing Committee completed the real-name registration procedures for domain names such as "China Laundry" website.
According to national requirements, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee has completed the real-name registration and related pre-approval work for China Laundry Network ( www.chinalaundry.cn ) and has also completed the registration and resolution work for seven domain names including "China Leather Care.China", "China Laundry Equipment.China", "China Laundry Association.China", "China Laundry.com", "China Cleaning.China", "China Laundry.China", and "chinalaundry.org", which have been officially put into use.

"Leather Care Worker" approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security as a unique occupation in the commercial industry.
The evaluation and certification work for this occupation will be undertaken by the China General Chamber of Commerce, while the Laundry and Dyeing Committee is responsible for the specific implementation of textbook and exam question bank compilation, training, and other tasks.

The Laundry and Dyeing Committee appointed Liao Zhiwen as Deputy Director.
To further strengthen the work of the China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition, enhance cooperation with exhibition companies, national laundry and dyeing enterprises, and local laundry industry associations in exhibition matters, and build the exhibition brand of China's laundry and dyeing industry, after research and approval by higher authorities, it was decided to appoint Liao Zhiwen, Chairman of Guangdong Xinzhilian Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., as Deputy Director of the Laundry Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce.
