Work report for the third issue of 2010

2010 (11th) China International Laundry Industry Exhibition Shanghai Opening
This exhibition has improved in scale, number of participating enterprises, audience quantity and quality compared to previous years. Concurrently, the exhibition held the "Second General Assembly of the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee", "Laundry Knowledge Competition and Accident Dispute Handling Skills Demonstration", "Famous Laundry Experts Interactive Exchange Meeting", and the selection and awarding of "National Famous Brands" and "Top Ten Enterprises Nationwide". To ensure the success of this conference and improve laundry technology levels, recently, relevant laundry associations and enterprises across the country have carried out various technical drills and skill competitions. Especially in regions and units such as Dalian, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Nanjing, local "Industry Vocational Skills Competitions" were held to select technical experts to participate in the competition.

National Occupational Skill Standard Review Meeting for Leather Care Workers Held in Beijing
The National Occupational Skill Standard for Leather Care Workers, proposed and organized for development by the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee, took half a year to develop. The review meeting was held in mid-July 2010 in Beijing. This standard review meeting was chaired by a specialist from the Standards Department of the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center, inviting multiple experts from the laundry industry, leather care research, standard formulation, and occupational skill appraisal fields, including experts from the China Commercial Federation Laundry Industry. At the meeting, experts revised and improved the draft of the "National Occupational Skill Standard for Leather Care Workers" based on the occupational functions, work content, skill requirements, and operability in the laundry industry.
After the review meeting, the standard will be submitted to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China for approval. Once officially promulgated, it will be implemented nationwide.

Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce to Propose "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Laundry Industry"
Our association was entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce to propose and draft the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Laundry Industry", focusing on the goal of transforming the laundry industry into a modern service industry. In the near term, according to the overall requirements of the national economic development plan and combined with the actual development of the laundry industry, the focus is on structural adjustment and industrial upgrading, promoting independent innovation, technological transformation, elimination of backwardness, and optimization of layout. This will consolidate and strengthen the laundry industry's endogenous motivation for its own development and public service, promoting the sustainable, healthy, and orderly operation of the laundry industry, contributing to China's economic development and convenience services.
Previously, our association also undertook the compilation task of the sub-project "Research on the Development Strategy of China's Laundry Industry" under the 2010 Ministerial Project "Research on Building a New Pattern of Service Industry Development Oriented to People's Livelihood" commissioned by the Ministry of Commerce.

2010 Annual Expert Reexamination and New Appointment Work Completed
According to the "Work Regulations of the China Commercial Federation Laundry Industry Expert Committee", our association started the reexamination and new appointment application and approval work for laundry industry experts in March 2010. This reexamination and new appointment work aims to enhance the sense of responsibility and honor of expert committee members and further utilize expert roles. It is a review and rectification of the expert team. The reexamination was recently completed, with 57 originally appointed experts completing the reexamination; 38 newly applied experts were approved. The average age of newly appointed experts is 45.2 years, with 84% holding college degrees or above. The expert team has expanded to 95 members, about 10 years younger on average than before, and the proportion of college degrees or above has increased by about 13%. Our expert committee plans to establish and gradually improve the "China Laundry Industry Expert Paper Database" to reserve excellent papers for the "China Laundry" journal, the "China Laundry Website", industry training materials, and expert paper compilations.

Second National Laundry Famous Brand Survey Completed
The second national laundry industry famous brand survey organized by the Laundry Committee lasted four months and concluded on July 30. The survey results will be announced during the "2010 China Laundry Industry Exhibition" in Shanghai in August 2010. At that time, outstanding enterprises awarded the title of China's famous laundry brands will be recognized, promoting brand building in China's laundry industry. The active registration of enterprises, enthusiastic voting by netizens, strong support from local associations, careful evaluation by experts, and widespread attention from all sectors of society were the highlights of this event. A total of 64 enterprise brands actively applied for this survey. Multiple websites including Sina, Tencent, and China.com published event news and followed up with reports. The daily number of votes increased severalfold, with a total of over 1.5 million votes.
 
Laundry Committee Authorized 4 Laundry Training Centers in the First Half of the Year
To make our association's laundry training more detailed and expand the coverage of training work, this year our association reviewed the laundry training centers it authorized according to the training center management measures. Four new training centers were authorized this year: Baifulai Training Center, Youbang Laundry Rescue Training Center, Gewang Training Center, and Hangzhou Training Center.

"Laundry Worker" Training Materials Expected to be Published by Year-End
Entrusted by the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center and the Occupational Skill Appraisal Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and according to the new national occupational skill standard for "Laundry Worker", the Laundry Committee is organizing the compilation of the new edition of the "Laundry Worker" training materials, which is currently in an intensive editing phase and is expected to be published by the end of the year.

Laundry Committee Publishes "Textile and Garment Ironing Technology" Training Materials
To promote the comprehensive development of the laundry industry, improve the ironing skills of practitioners, and fill the gap of no detailed ironing knowledge books for many years, Mr. Wu Ruizhang, a senior technician from the former Beijing Prand Laundry Company and an expert of the China Commercial Federation Laundry Industry, spent more than a year compiling the "Textile and Garment Ironing Technology" training materials. This book is included in the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee's laundry technology series and has been organized, published, and distributed by our association.
"Textile and Garment Ironing Technology" focuses on practical ironing operations and provides detailed explanations of ironing techniques from basic to advanced levels. For each style of clothing, close-up practical demonstration CDs were filmed to help practitioners quickly understand and master the skills. It is believed that this book will become an essential manual for beginners and advanced ironing practitioners. During the Shanghai exhibition in August, the author personally sold and signed copies of the book.
       
Laundry Committee Training Department Held Training Classes in Shanghai
On the eve of the 11th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition held in Shanghai, the Laundry Committee Training Department will also hold a laundry technician training class in Shanghai. This session specially invites well-known experts in the laundry industry to personally teach courses on washing, stain removal, dry cleaning, ironing, leather care, dyeing, and handling of laundry accident cases. Those who pass the assessment and evaluation upon completion of the study will be awarded the national vocational qualification certificate.
