★"The 11th China International Laundry Industry Exhibition" Preparations Progress Smoothly
The 2010 Shanghai World Expo is about to open. The enthusiasm for welcoming the Expo and observing the world is rapidly heating up, with the world's attention focused on Shanghai. At the same time, the highly influential annual event in China's laundry industry—the 2010 (11th) China International Laundry Industry Exhibition—will once again be held in Shanghai from August 26 to 28, 2010.
Currently, the exhibition preparations are progressing smoothly. According to the organizer's estimates, the exhibition area will reach 6,000 square meters, with nearly 300 booths. Based on current company registrations, the entire 6,000 square meters of exhibition space on the first floor of the Shanghai World Trade Mall rented by the organizer will be sold out by May, and companies registering afterward may face difficulty securing a booth. The main reason is that since the successful conclusion of the last exhibition, many well-known domestic and international companies such as Jiangsu Haishi, Chengdu Meilian Lihua, Shaoxing Toply, Shanghai Elephant King, Dalian Youbang, Shanghai Shenguang, Yasen, Yousa, and YAC have successively reserved booths. Among them, Shaoxing Toply rapidly expanded its exhibition area from 90 square meters last time to 210 square meters, occupying a prominent central position in the exhibition hall. Meilian Lihua, Elephant King, YAC, Youbang, Shenguang, and other companies have also competed for the best booths of over 100 square meters. Other companies such as Yousa, Yasen, Oasis, Funait, Rongchang, Luhuan, and Kabo have also expanded their exhibition areas compared to the last event.
The biggest highlight of this year's exhibition is the large number of domestic and international companies registering to participate, all eager to seize market opportunities brought by the "Expo Economy." Among them, Shanghai Weishi Machinery Company rented 216 square meters of exhibition space, becoming the largest booth again after the 2008 Shanghai exhibition. Europe's largest used equipment manufacturer Goudkuil, together with Beijing Innovation Gudao Cleaning Technology Co., Ltd. and Japan's TOTO Folder, will jointly exhibit with a booth area of 108 square meters. Many overseas companies such as Italy's Italclean, Ghidini Benvenuto Srl, Japan's Sankasa, Nihon Sealing, Sanaru, San-ai, South Korea's Silver Star, KTE, USA's Gobukson, Hoffman-New Yorker, DEMA, H&C, UK's Micross, and Hong Kong's Qilixing, as well as domestic companies like Shanghai Baiqiang, Jiefeng, Huawei, and Churun, have all submitted booth applications to the organizer. Visitors will be able to see more of the latest and most advanced laundry and dry-cleaning technologies, laundry and ironing equipment, detergents, and laundry store brands from home and abroad. Zhang Yuan, China Regional Manager of the globally renowned laundry equipment company Alliance, also stated that besides allowing Chinese agents to participate, new product launches and technical seminars will continue to be held during the exhibition.
To ensure the effectiveness of the exhibition, the organizer will continue to increase promotional efforts, leveraging its own resource advantages to invite domestic and international laundry industry professionals and professional buyers to participate. At the same time, a variety of concurrent activities will continue to be held, including the "Second General Assembly of the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee," "Laundry Knowledge Competition and Accident Dispute Handling Skills Demonstration," "Famous Laundry Experts Interactive Exchange Meeting," and the selection and awarding of "National Famous Brands" and "Top Ten Enterprises Nationwide," to further expand the influence of the exhibition.

It is strong, widely represented, and influential. The association and the Laundry Committee both operate in the commercial service sector and are national industry organizations. They have always had a natural alliance in connecting with the government, serving the industry, and serving the public, especially with broad cooperation prospects in hotel and related catering linen washing.
After consultations, both parties reached a consensus to establish a strategic cooperation relationship. Based on cooperation and linking in the "China Laundry" journal and China Laundry website, as well as the release and promotion of important information and activities, they will actively explore further substantive cooperation paths and methods including discussions and interactions on hotel logistics management processes and linen washing requirements; management, design, process flow, equipment-material matching, personnel technical training, and qualification upgrading consulting services for hotel laundries; release and introduction of the latest domestic and international washing information, trends, and operation models (such as hotel linen rental business); and evaluation and recommendation of high-end washing service providers in hotel locations.
★ Laundry Committee Participates in China General Chamber of Commerce's "Seminar on Independent Brand Building in Commercial Service Industry"
This year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance jointly entrusted the China General Chamber of Commerce to be responsible for the research project "Current Status, Main Problems, and Policy Recommendations for Independent Brand Cultivation in the Commercial Service Industry."
At the "Seminar on Independent Brand Building in the Commercial Service Industry" held by the China General Chamber of Commerce, the Laundry Committee expressed its views on the cultivation and construction of independent brands in the laundry industry based on the current situation of China's laundry industry. When discussing policy recommendations for cultivating independent brands in the laundry industry, it was particularly pointed out: "For enterprises, energy use prices and tax rates (such as water price adjustments, emission standards, etc.) should be adopted according to the nature and characteristics of the industry, comprehensively evaluating their contribution to national economic growth, employment, taxation, stimulating domestic demand, meeting consumption, activating the market, and positively impacting residents' lives."; "For associations, due to well-known reasons, the relationship between our government, associations, and enterprises is very different from that in Western developed market economies. Our industry associations are clearly marginalized; they are neither the result of fully market-oriented behavior nor do they have rigid government functions, and there is a lack of enforcement in guiding the healthy and orderly development of the industry. Currently, this gap can only be effectively filled through necessary authorization by government departments (such as national association approval, national laundry quality inspection center, etc.)."; "Regarding brand cultivation itself, on the one hand, it must be clearly recognized that cultivating a brand is a means and a process, not an end. On the other hand, it must be clearly recognized that brands do not arise automatically nor can they be subjectively fabricated; the emergence of brands has its own characteristics and rules and cannot be done in a frenzy."
