Work report for the first issue of 2010

★The 2009 Annual Director Work Meeting of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee Held in Qingdao
The 2009 Annual Director Work Meeting of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce was held in December 2009 in Qingdao, Shandong. Twenty-four directors of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee and the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Professional Committee attended the meeting.
The meeting held that the directors' meeting is not only a regular meeting but also a briefing, summary, decision-making, and planning vision meeting. This meeting made participants feel the changes in enterprises and the industry. Under the concept of "improving service skills, having ability leads to position, and having position leads to greater achievements," laundry and dyeing professionals must "shoulder social responsibility, which is also a productive force that generates social and economic benefits," achieving unprecedented consensus on promoting industry development. After the meeting, the "2010 Work Points of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce" was issued in the name of the Chamber.

★National Occupational Skill Appraiser Training Class for the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Held in Qingdao
Entrusted by the Occupational Skill Appraisal Guidance Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China General Chamber of Commerce Occupational Skill Appraisal Center, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, and the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security jointly held the "First National Occupational Skill Appraiser Training Class for the Laundry and Dyeing Industry" in Qingdao in December 2009.
The original plan was to enroll about 80 people, but the actual number of trainees reached more than 140, exceeding expectations and achieving very good results.

★Laundry and Dyeing Committee Releases "2009 Hot News in the Laundry and Dyeing Industry"
In February 2010, the Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce released the "2009 Hot News in the Laundry and Dyeing Industry." Highlights include the approval of the "National Laundry and Dyeing Standardization Technical Committee" by the National Standardization Committee, the successful holding of the first China International Laundry and Dyeing Festival in Beijing, the launch of the national occupational standard development for leather care workers, the comprehensive upgrade of the national laundry and dyeing industry management information system, the complete revamp and reader launch of the "China Laundry" journal, the 2009 Asia Beijing International Textile Professional Treatment (Laundry) Exhibition held in Beijing, the awarding of the title "National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Meritorious Figures" to ten senior experts by the China General Chamber of Commerce, the first national-level occupational skill competition "National Laundry and Dyeing Industry National-level Referee Training Class," the 2009 annual director meeting of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee held in Qingdao, and the national occupational skill appraiser training class for the laundry and dyeing industry held in Qingdao, all making the industry news list.

★Release of the "2010 Work Points of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee"
In December 2009, the China General Chamber of Commerce issued the "Notice on Printing and Distributing the 2010 Work Points of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce" with document number "China General Chamber of Commerce Laundry and Dyeing Committee [2009] No. 6."
The "Notice" pointed out that in 2009, on the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce, with the purpose of "unity, cooperation, and development," successfully held the "First China International Laundry and Dyeing Festival," reflecting a good trend of enterprise development and popularity gathering, laying a solid foundation for further work in 2010. The "Notice" also requires all member units of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee, local laundry and dyeing industry associations, related enterprises, and social organizations to attach great importance and actively cooperate to earnestly carry out various tasks in 2010.
The "Notice" made the following arrangements for the main work of the Laundry and Dyeing Professional Committee in 2010:
1. Successfully organize large-scale events centered on the "China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition."
2. Establish the National Laundry and Dyeing Standardization Technical Committee to effectively promote the construction of the laundry and dyeing industry standard system.
(1) Cooperate with the Ministry of Commerce to establish the National Laundry and Dyeing Standardization Technical Committee and do a good job in the secretariat work of the laundry and dyeing standard committee.
(2) Continue the formulation work of industry standards approved in 2009 and strive for their release and implementation in 2010.
(3) Organize the formulation of the national occupational qualification standard for "Leather Care Workers" and other related work.
(4) Start the revision work of the national examination question bank for "Laundry Workers."
3. Establish a national laundry and dyeing industry information system to create an information platform shared by the entire industry.
(1) Build the "China Laundry" website into a comprehensive information website for China's laundry and dyeing industry, gradually developing it into a safe, reliable, well-expandable, open, and authoritative national laundry and dyeing industry management information system to promote the informatization of China's laundry and dyeing industry.
(2) Continuously improve the publication quality of the "China Laundry" journal to achieve an industry-leading publication integrating information carrier, technical advisor, and industry communication functions.
4. Increase training efforts, promote certification for employment, and improve practitioners' quality.
(1) Widely carry out training for various job types (positions) within the industry.
(2) Hold themed professional technical training.
(3) Continue to select and send key enterprise personnel and outstanding employees to Japan for technical study.
(4) Conduct training for laundry and dyeing industry instructors, referees, and appraisers according to industry needs.
(5) Do a good job in compiling, publishing, and distributing textbooks and materials such as "Laundry Workers."
5. Give full play to the functions of the association to provide professional and high-quality services for members and the industry.
(1) Strengthen member development and service management work.
(2) Fully play the role of bridge and platform.
(3) Conduct industry surveys and strengthen management of related evaluation work.
(4) Explore ways to leverage the overall strength of the industry to run the association.
The specific content of this "Notice" has been specially issued by the Laundry and Dyeing Committee.

★Launch of the National Occupational Standard Development Work for Leather Care Workers
In November 2009, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security held the 12th New Occupation Information Release Conference in Shanghai, officially releasing information on eight new occupations in the fields of production operation and service industries in China in recent years, including leather care workers. The new occupation of leather care worker was proposed and established by the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee. Separating leather care from the "Laundry Master" category and setting up the new occupation of leather care worker is necessary to standardize industry development and to promote the standardization and professionalization of leather care, which is an inevitable trend of development. This is of great significance for regulating the behavior of industry practitioners, improving their professional skills, and promoting the sound and rapid development of the industry. After the release of the new occupation information for leather care workers, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security entrusted the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee to organize the formulation and compilation of corresponding national occupational standards, related teaching materials, and assessment question banks. The Laundry and Dyeing Committee of the China Commercial Federation signed an agreement with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security's Vocational Skills Appraisal Center to draft the national occupational standards for leather care workers, and relevant experts have already begun drafting the new standards. This new standard is expected to be issued in the first half of 2010.

★ Laundry and Dyeing Committee Director and Experts in Beijing Hold 2010 New Year Gathering
On January 19, 2010, the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee held a New Year gathering in Beijing, hosted by Beijing Sunlight Fine (Group) Company. Guests attending the event included Director Wang Shuyuan, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director Wang Houzeng, Deputy Directors Wang Xueren, Zhang Rongyao, Zhu Lijun, Zu Xiguang, Guo Jidong, Xin Yubo, experts and enterprise leaders such as Ding Shuilin, Li Guangze, Wu Jingmiao, Wu Ruizhang, Jiang Xiling, Nie Denglin, Ma Xiangliang, Liu Sufang, Gao Zhiwen, and others. Former Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee Li Qingshan and other laundry industry figures were specially invited. Guo Jidong, Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and Chairman of Beijing Sunlight Fine (Group) Company, first delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the host. Wang Xueren, Deputy Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee and Secretary-General of the Beijing Laundry Industry Association, also expressed blessings on behalf of the Beijing Association to all directors, experts, and enterprise leaders present. ★ Titles of "Excellent Organizing Unit" and "Excellent Referee" Awarded in Vocational Skills Competition
On December 25, 2009, the National Vocational Skills Competition Organizing Committee issued the "Decision on Commending Excellent Organizing Units and Excellent Referees in the 2009 National Vocational Skills Competition Activities." The Beijing Laundry Industry Association, as the host of the finals of the 6th National Laundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition, closely cooperated with the organizer, the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee, in the preparation and competition process. From material arrangements for the events to the reception of participating teams, detailed deployments were made, earning praise from national participating teams and the honorary title of "Excellent Organizing Unit."
Jiang Ying, a national-level referee employed by Tianjin Chaoli Laundry Service Co., Ltd., served as the head of the judging panel for the clothing ironing skills competition. During the judging process, she demonstrated profound technical skills and a meticulous, strict work style, receiving unanimous praise from the competition organizing team and all participants, and was awarded the honorary title of "Excellent Referee."

★ Comprehensive Upgrade of the National Laundry Industry Management Information System
In 2009, the China Commercial Federation Laundry and Dyeing Committee made every effort to build a management information system for the national laundry industry. The new version of the China Laundry website ( www.chinalaundry.cn ) was included in the national plan and invested in by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The "China Laundry" website is built into a comprehensive information website for China's laundry industry. Through interactive communication on the website's information platform, it gradually realizes online surveys, data aggregation and analysis, and the release of relevant policies, laws, and regulations; carries out online training and exchange activities; disseminates professional knowledge and good consumer concepts to reduce laundry disputes; achieves online office work and online inspections, improving work efficiency while reducing costs. Following the principles of cooperative development, resource sharing, and non-profit operation, the website is gradually being developed into a safe, reliable, well-expandable, open, and authoritative national laundry industry management information system to promote the informatization of China's laundry industry. The website began trial operation at the end of 2009. The revamped "China Laundry" website integrates news, information, communication, training, advertising, and other functions, becoming the most authoritative large-scale comprehensive website in the national laundry industry and a powerful engine driving the informatization and networking of China's laundry industry.
