Work report for the second issue of 2009

★The 10th China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition Exhibition and investment promotion progress smoothly.

The 2009 (10th) China International Laundry and Dyeing Industry Exhibition, scheduled to be held from September 9 to 11, 2009 at the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall in Beijing, is progressing smoothly with promising prospects. The exhibition area will exceed 5,000 square meters, featuring nearly 100 well-known brands from 11 countries and regions including China, the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Currently, the total number of booths is approaching 200, a significant increase compared to the previous exhibition.

Since the buyer organization work for the exhibition started in early June, inquiries and pre-registrations have been received from industry professionals across provinces and cities nationwide, especially from North China, Northeast China, and East China. As of June 30, more than 210 professional visitors have pre-registered, showing great interest in the exhibition and concurrent events such as the "2009 International Laundry Industry Conference (Beijing)" and the "6th National Laundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition." It is expected that the number of pre-registered professional visitors will exceed 2,000 before the exhibition opens.

★ The 6th National Laundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition has commenced.

The National Laundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition, as the highest-level skills contest in the domestic laundry industry, has received great attention from laundry industry associations, enterprises, and practitioners nationwide. As of June 30, 2009, the preliminary rounds in sub-competition areas such as Tianjin and Dalian have been successfully completed, while preliminaries in Beijing, Shanghai, and other locations are in full swing. Large national laundry chain enterprises such as Funait, Yousa, and Kangjie have also applied as preliminary units and organized preliminary competitions. The top six from each sub-competition area will qualify to advance to the finals of the 6th National Laundry Industry Vocational Skills Competition. Preparations for the finals, including title sponsors, competition venues, equipment, and accommodation, have been finalized. Registration for the finals will be completed by the end of July.

This competition has received strong support from many industry enterprises. For example, Tianjin Chaoli Laundry Co., Ltd., Shanghai Xiangwang Laundry Co., Ltd., Shanghai Luhuan Laundry Co., Ltd., Beijing Sanyo Dry Cleaning Co., Ltd., and Beijing Jiebao Italian Leather Chemical Supplies Co., Ltd. serve as honorary title sponsors for the five competition projects: "Front Desk Garment Collection," "Stain Removal," "Garment Mending," "Clothing Ironing," and "Leather Care," respectively. Beijing Yousa Laundry Equipment Co., Ltd. provides ironing equipment for the clothing ironing competition; Shanghai Xiangwang Laundry Co., Ltd. provides stain removal equipment and agents for the stain removal competition; Beijing Sunlight Fine Chemical Technology Research Institute provides stain removal agents; and Beijing Jiebao Italian Leather Chemical Supplies Co., Ltd. provides leather care agents for the leather care competition.

★The revised edition of our "China Laundry" journal will be grandly launched before the Laundry and Dyeing Festival.

Since its inception, "China Laundry" has been widely recognized, loved, and supported by colleagues in the laundry and dyeing industry, especially with strong assistance from units such as Jilin Hengtai. To better serve internal needs and external publicity, and to make "China Laundry" a leading and authoritative publication in the industry, reflecting professionalism, practicality, and fashion in both content and form, and to align with current publishing trends and the status of national industry associations, we will grandly launch the revised edition of "China Laundry" starting from the third issue of 2009 before the first "China International Laundry and Dyeing Festival."

Currently, the design and planning of the revised "China Laundry" journal are nearly complete. Compared to the original version, there are significant breakthroughs in publishing philosophy, overall style, column settings, and visual effects, which will surely give readers a refreshing experience. We sincerely welcome institutions, enterprises, and insightful individuals inside and outside the industry to cooperate with us in providing information, agency distribution, product display, content interaction, and editorial production, continuing to give greater support to our own laundry and dyeing publication as always.

★Our association will strengthen cooperation in training, with remarkable training results in the first half of the year.

Our association implements the "Laundry and Dyeing Industry Management Measures" to promote certificate-based training for industry practitioners. In the first half of the year, the Beijing Dyeing Industry Hanor Training Center, Dalian Training Center, Sichuan Training Center, and Zhejiang Lanxi Arsha Training Center achieved outstanding results, with Hanor Training Center applying for a total of 124 practice certificates.

The second batch of 2009 trainees going to Japan for study also completed interviews in early July. This will be the 6th batch directly selected and sent by our association.

★ Pan Wei attended the Sea Lion Group new product exhibition.

In early June, Pan Wei, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of our association, attended the 2009 Beijing New Product Exhibition of Jiangsu Sea Lion Group. Jiangsu Sea Lion Group Chairman Chen Youqing delivered a welcome speech. Relevant personnel from the group explained the research and use of new equipment. Representatives of user manufacturers also shared their experiences and feelings using Sea Lion products during their speeches. Afterwards, all participants visited the Beijing Passenger Laundry Factory. The entire event left a deep impression on everyone.

During the meeting, Pan Wei exchanged views on issues such as industry association services for enterprises and carefully listened to opinions and suggestions. He stated that the association will focus on successfully hosting the first China International Laundry and Dyeing Festival in the second half of this year, and after the festival, will continue to hold a series of exchange and learning activities to provide a broad platform for in-depth communication among laundry and dyeing enterprises.

More than 100 laundry and dyeing industry professionals attended this meeting. Wang Shuyuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the China General Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Laundry and Dyeing Committee, fully affirmed the holding of the exhibition.

★ The 6th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition Tianjin Regional Preliminary (Selection) has concluded.

The 6th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition Tianjin Regional Preliminary (Selection) and the 4th Tianjin Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition were held on June 23, 2009, at Tianjin New China Laundry Company. This competition was jointly organized by the Tianjin Municipal Commerce Commission, Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Tianjin Federation of Trade Unions, Tianjin Women's Federation, and Tianjin Commercial Association, and hosted by the Tianjin Laundry Industry Association. Wang Houzeng, Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry Professional Committee of the China Commercial Federation, and others were invited to attend. Ma Hailin, President of the Tianjin Commercial Association, and leaders from relevant government departments, bureaus, commissions, and offices attended to congratulate and deliver speeches. More than 500 representatives from laundry enterprises and friends from the media attended the opening ceremony and enthusiastically observed the event.

To ensure the quality and technical level of the contestants, the Tianjin Association has organized nearly ten thousand employees from various laundry enterprises citywide to participate in skill competitions since the beginning of this year. After multiple rounds of selection, more than 100 contestants were chosen to participate in this competition. After fierce competition, the top 6 in each of the five events—"Front Desk Garment Collection, Stain Removal, Leather Care, Garment Ironing, and Clothing Mending"—a total of 32 outstanding contestants were recommended to the relevant departments for approval, awarded related technical certificates, and promoted in professional qualification levels. They will represent Tianjin's laundry industry to participate in the "6th National Laundry and Dyeing Industry Vocational Skills Competition" held in Beijing this September.

★ Hanzhong Association Implements the "Measures" in Action   Striving for the "Three Excellence" with Clear Goals.

The Laundry Industry Association of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, in order to implement the "Laundry Industry Management Measures," jointly held a meeting with the local Commerce Bureau and the Laundry Industry Rectification Office to promote the implementation of the "Measures" and conduct laundry technology lectures. Shu Qi, Executive Deputy Director of the Laundry Industry Expert Committee of the China Commercial Federation, was invited to give a lecture on laundry technology.

At the meeting, President Qi Yi, on behalf of the Hanzhong Laundry Industry Association, put forward specific requirements on how to implement the "Measures" and provide consumers with "high quality, good price, and excellent" "Three Excellence" services. This approach, combining the study and implementation of the "Measures" with setting work goals and conducting technical lectures, was fully affirmed by the local government authorities. The event attracted nearly 70 representatives from laundry companies, laundromats, hotels, and hotel laundry rooms across Hanzhong counties and achieved very good results.
