Sitting on the open space in front of the store, Old Cheng looks like the big brother next door, with some gray hair. Whenever residents pass by, he always greets them with a smile. Behind him, the laundry shop that has been operating for 11 years has machines running and the floor polished to a shine. Having been in the industry for 11 years, Old Cheng strictly controls every process. Last year, the laundry shop had zero disputes throughout the year. What the shop "washes" is not just clothes, but also a reputation.
The entire set of laundry equipment was imported from Italy.
In the square next to the north gate of the Hongji Shuxiangyuan Community Phase II in Sha District, Cheng Liqiang's Tianfu Laundry has just passed its 11th year. In July 2003, when Cheng Liqiang registered the laundry shop with the industrial and commercial department, he recalled that there were only two or three similar large-scale formal laundries in the whole of Dalian.
Entering the laundry shop, even standing at the door, it is hard to hear the sound of the dry cleaning machines just a few steps away. The store is very clean, with rows of clothes hanging on both sides. The ironed clothes are all covered with plastic covers by professional machines. There are no water stains in the laundry room, and the marble floor shows no dirt.
Cheng Liqiang's laundry shop started at a high level, becoming a franchise of the Italian Ilsa laundry brand from the beginning. "All the laundry equipment we use is imported from Italy." Cheng Liqiang explained that the dry cleaning machines from Italy are fully enclosed, so there is no smell of the American-imported detergent. At the same time, the machines distill the dry cleaning solvent, and after purification by this method, the residual perchloroethylene on the clothes is almost zero, having no effect on the body.
The washing machines are also selected from an Italian brand, with no noise and capable of high-temperature sterilization. "All Ilsa brand franchisees must use customized equipment and have strict requirements on detergent brands and washing processes," said Cheng Liqiang. At that time, he specially went to Beijing to receive official training from Ilsa to ensure accuracy in every step.
Adhering to service quality with zero disputes throughout the year.
Many certificates hang at the entrance of Cheng Liqiang's laundry shop. Besides the business license, tax registration certificate, and Ilsa authorization certificate, there is also a certificate for advanced tax contribution in Sha District in 2011. Additionally, there is a certificate recognizing the Ilsa laundry brand as an executive director of the Dalian Laundry Industry Association. However, what Old Cheng values most is an intangible certificate: last year, his laundry shop registered with the Sha District industrial and commercial department had zero disputes throughout the year. "After 11 years of operation, there are not many old shops like ours in the city," said Old Cheng. Over the years, he has always adhered to service quality. For example, the detergent they use is a qualified product produced by a well-known manufacturer in Dalian, priced at 30 yuan per kilogram. They use only tap water for washing to ensure the softness and brightness of the clothes.
Old Cheng frankly admitted that there is indeed a regulatory gap in the laundry industry. The emergence of illegal laundry workshops actually harms the industry. "They use detergent costing only a few yuan per kilogram and illegally drill wells to use underground water for washing. The clothes washed this way retain a large amount of minerals, which not only lack brightness but also harm the human body," said Old Cheng. In their shop, there are 16 washing methods for different fabric materials, with strict control over materials and dedicated personnel responsible for each step.
"I believe every operator is a master, a laundry expert." Old Cheng is well versed in laundry materials, processes, fabric types, and materials. For him, laundry is not only a job but also a responsibility.
