To protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and to fairly and reasonably resolve consumer disputes in the laundry and dyeing industry, on July 8, the on-site meeting for people's mediation work of social organizations in Qingdao was held at the Qingda Community Party-Mass Service Center. The People's Mediation Committees of the laundry and dyeing industry associations at both the Shandong Province and Qingdao City levels were officially established at the meeting. From then on, laundry and dyeing enterprises or consumers in Shandong Province encountering disputes can request free intervention and mediation by experts from the mediation committee to effectively resolve consumer disputes.
Deputy Director Wang Zhenzhu of Qingdao Civil Affairs Bureau, Deputy Director Wang Shujian of the Municipal Justice Bureau, Director Liu Baodong of the People's Participation and Promotion of Legal System Department of the Municipal Justice Bureau, leaders from the Social Organization Management Bureau, the Grassroots Governance Department of the Municipal Party Committee Political and Legal Committee, civil affairs and justice bureaus of various districts in Qingdao, as well as main leaders from the laundry and dyeing industry associations of Shandong Province and Qingdao City and 15 industry associations and chambers of commerce in Chengyang District attended this observation meeting. 
At the meeting, Sun Shanjia, President of the Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association, introduced to the attendees the outstanding achievements the association has made in clothing appraisal and people's mediation work since its establishment. President Sun stated, "In 2015, the Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association was founded. The association adheres to the development philosophy of serving the government, members, industry, and society, effectively playing a positive role in consumer rights protection and dispute resolution by active mediation, correct guidance, and effective coordination. The association has successively established the '3.15 Laundry Industry Complaint Station,' the 'Designated Laundry Quality Appraisal Station of the China Commercial Federation Laundry Professional Committee,' the 'Qingdao Consumer Protection Committee Laundry Industry Consultation and Complaint Center,' and the 'Qingdao Consumer Dispute People's Mediation Committee Office,' and was awarded by the Shandong Consumer Association as the province's first 'Consumer Rights Protection Appraisal Technical Support Unit.' Additionally, the Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association has issued five group standards including the 'Laundry Industry Consumer Dispute Handling Guide,' providing a unified and effective approach for dispute resolution.

Vice President Fang Xinjun of the Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association exchanged past mediation experiences of laundry disputes with attendees. Vice President Fang stated that in today's rapid development of the laundry industry, the laundry sector has the particularity of "non-standard services," making the establishment of the People's Mediation Committee by the Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association especially important.

Deputy Director Wang Zhenzhu of Qingdao Civil Affairs Bureau stated that strengthening the construction of social organization people's mediation committees and innovating social management methods is a systematic project to maintain social stability. Social organizations should work solidly and forge ahead according to the unified deployment of the province and city, making new contributions to promoting social harmony.
Deputy Director Wang Shujian of Qingdao Municipal Justice Bureau highly recognized the people's mediation work of the Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association and stated that this observation is another mediation work meeting held by Chengyang District following Qingdao City's upgraded on-site meeting of the "Fengqiao Experience." Strengthening people's mediation work in social organizations not only meets the requirements of the central, provincial, and municipal committees but also aligns with the spirit of harmonious development in the era. The establishment of mediation committees in social organizations will guide and promote social organizations' participation in social governance, timely and efficiently resolve various conflicts and disputes, and make important contributions to building Qingdao into a national first-class model city for modern social governance at the city level. 
The Shandong Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association will keep its mission in mind, actively play its role, protect the legitimate rights and interests of laundry enterprises and consumers, and make positive contributions to stabilizing the market order of the laundry industry and promoting the standardized and harmonious development of the laundry industry in our province.
