The washing machine strangulation accident involving the girl occurred around 13:00 on the 21st. The owner of a small shop near the station in Qiaoshe Town, Xinjian County, revealed that the two girls involved in the accident have the surname Tu; the elder sister is under 4 years old, and the younger sister is only 2 years old.
“It's unclear how the children climbed into the washing machine on the living room balcony, closed the lid, and started the machine, resulting in the two girls being strangled to death. It's truly unimaginable.” The shop owner explained, “I heard that at the time of the accident, the father of the two children was watching TV in the bedroom, and the mother was cooking in the kitchen.”
The shop owner also said, “The two girls have a 1-year-old younger brother. The children's father used to run a small business but stopped this year due to lack of income. So the parents stayed home to take care of the three children. However, after the accident, the couple returned to their old house in a nearby village.”
Jinshi Network also interviewed a witness to the washing machine strangulation accident. The witness said that after the accident, he helped take the children to the hospital. “At that time, the two children’s faces and noses were bleeding inside the washing machine, swollen beyond recognition, with bruises all over their bodies, and the inside of the washing machine was covered in blood.” The witness said, “After carrying the children to the town health center, the doctor examined them and said the children were already dead and beyond rescue.”
According to the witness's speculation, the two girls likely used a stool to step on and climbed in and out one by one. Since the washing machine at the children’s home was started by touch and the plug was not pulled out, it’s possible that when the children entered the washing machine, they touched the button, causing the machine to start and the lid to close, trapping them inside and leading to this tragedy.

This morning, a reporter from Legal Evening News called Jinshi Network. The reporter who wrote the article said they received a tip and went to the scene for an interview. Since the children’s parents had gone to the countryside, they did not meet the parents. The information about the children being strangled by the washing machine was relayed by family members and neighbors.
At 11 a.m. today, a reporter called the Qiaoshe Town Police Station in Xinjian County. A police officer surnamed Cai said that they have heard about the washing machine strangulation incident involving the girl and that the police station has intervened to investigate. However, no related report had been received before. “Additionally, the children have been buried, and it is uncertain when the specific investigation results will be released.”
