According to the UK's Financial Times, recent data released by the US Forbes magazine shows that as of February 14 this year, the number of billionaires worldwide has risen to a record 1,210, with total assets of 45 trillion US dollars. Among them, the United States remains the country with the most billionaires, totaling 413, with total assets of 15 trillion US dollars. The BRICS countries—China, Russia, India, and Brazil—added 108 billionaires, reaching a total of 301, one more than Europe. This year, the number of billionaires in mainland China nearly doubled, reaching 115 (Russia 101, India 55, Brazil 30).
China's richest billionaire is Li Yanhong, founder of the search engine Baidu, with a net worth of 9.4 billion US dollars. Although the number of billionaires in India has not increased much, their average net worth reaches 4.5 billion US dollars, higher than the 2.5 billion US dollars of Chinese billionaires. Among the top 100 billionaires, China has only 1, while Russia has 15, India 7, and Brazil 3.
