The event themed "3·15 Consumption and Safety" was grandly held from March 15 to 19, 2012, at the Xinghai Convention and Exhibition Center in Dalian. The event featured over 400 domestic and foreign enterprises from 10 major sectors including real estate, automobiles, home appliances, food, building materials and home furnishings, daily necessities, and health and fitness. The Dalian Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association was also invited to participate in the event.
At the event, the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association answered consumers' questions and provided knowledge related to laundry. They also offered guidance on some professional knowledge within laundromats. To help consumers understand how to protect their rights in laundry services, the association made thorough preparations before the event. In the public service area, the association posted many materials about laundry accidents, laundry appraisal, and other related knowledge for consumers to learn and understand. Many consumers were still unclear about the differences and methods between dry cleaning and water washing, as well as how to choose between dry cleaning or water washing for their clothes. To address these issues, the association prepared 500 copies of the book "Entering the Laundry Shop," which contains professional knowledge and common sense about laundry, for distribution to consumers to read. It is believed that after reading this related laundry knowledge, consumers will have a better understanding of laundry in the future and will no longer be confused about it. The president of the Laundry and Dyeing Association personally inspected the site during the event. The secretary-general, deputy secretary-general, director, laundry industry experts, and laundry committee accident appraisal experts provided consultation services for five days. They guided consumers who came with complaints about laundry accidents and helped protect consumers' legal rights. During this period, nearly 30 consumers were received, all their inquiries were answered, 5 complaints were mediated, and 8 internal industry disputes were resolved. The association, adhering to the principle of coordinating between consumers and laundromats, provided professional guidance on laundry knowledge, maintaining a fair and just attitude, ensuring both consumers and laundromats received satisfactory responses. It is believed that through the five-day consultation and answers, consumers will choose better laundry methods based on their understanding in future laundry consumption and use professional knowledge to protect their consumer rights.
Since the establishment of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association in 2008, it has been invited for the fourth time to participate in the 3·15 event to provide consumer rights protection consultation and answers. Every year at the event, the association carefully selects dozens of laundromats to cooperate with its work. The organizing committee has given high praise to the Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association and hopes that it will continue to participate in next year's "3·15" event to provide consumer rights protection consultation services.
