Vice Minister of Civil Affairs Jiang Li introduced on March 8 that there are currently 440,000 social organizations in China. The Ministry of Civil Affairs is currently working with relevant departments of the State Council to expedite the revision of the "Regulations on the Registration and Administration of Social Organizations," the "Regulations on the Administration of Foundations," and the "Interim Regulations on the Registration and Administration of Private Non-Enterprise Units." After these three regulations are revised and issued, they will provide a legal basis and support for social organizations to improve their capabilities and healthy development.
He said that the Ministry of Civil Affairs will promote relevant government departments to transfer some micro-level, social service-oriented work and service functions to social organizations, leveraging the role of social organizations through service procurement.
