Dalian Holds the First Session of the Fourth Council and Spring Festival Networking Event

The Dalian Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association held the first session of the fourth council meeting and the Spring Festival gathering on January 9th, with more than 40 representatives from laundry service enterprises in the city and Jinzhou New District attending the event.
The meeting began with President Xu Manli extending New Year greetings to the practitioners of the laundry and dyeing industry. Then Secretary-General Wang Jidong gave a summary of the work in 2010. The year 2010 was a fruitful year for the Dalian Laundry and Dyeing Industry Association, with outstanding achievements in various tasks: events such as Laundry Festival, Laundry Worker Vocational Skills Competition, and Laundry Technology Exchange received enthusiastic participation from industry practitioners. Especially, the revision work of the "Laundry and Dyeing Service Technical Specifications" and the "Laundry and Dyeing Industry Classification and Evaluation Specifications" has reached the final stage and is awaiting release and implementation. The meeting also reported on the association's 2011 financial income and the work of the branch appraisal committee.
Regarding the work for 2011, Secretary-General Wang Jidong proposed key discussion drafts, and participants offered suggestions and requirements for the association's next steps from different work aspects. Deputy Secretary-General Xiu Wei made special plans for member development and industry promotion in 2011.
The year 2011 will be a year full of confidence for the development of the laundry and dyeing industry. The Ministry of Commerce recently issued the "Guiding Opinions on Further Accelerating the Development of the Laundry and Dyeing Industry," which pointed out seven aspects to accelerate the development of the laundry and dyeing industry: strengthening planning guidance and optimizing industry layout; cultivating independent brands and improving market competitiveness; carrying out service innovation and improving service quality; applying advanced technology to promote energy saving and environmental protection; improving laws and standards to promote standardized development; increasing policy support to promote enterprise development; strengthening basic work to guide scientific industry development. This provides direction for the next work deployment of our industry association. We have formulated the 2011 work plan based on the specific guidance requirements in the opinions, especially in the formulation and implementation of industry standards and the certification rate of practitioners. We will conduct certification training and assessment for practitioners citywide, aiming to reach a certification rate of over 30% during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, improving the overall skill level of the industry.
Additionally, what gives the association more confidence is that the Ministry of Commerce's "Letter on Further Playing the Role of Industry Associations in the Commercial Service Sector" clearly requires leveraging the functional advantages of industry associations in the commercial field, including "accelerating the transformation of government functions and supporting associations in undertaking fundamental work." These opinions and requirements will greatly promote our industry association in playing its role, innovating service content and methods, and improving the level of laundry and dyeing services. In the coming year, with strong support from the China Commercial Federation Laundry Committee, the Dalian Service Industry Committee, and other relevant departments, we are confident that we will make even greater progress in the new year.
Finally, the laundry and dyeing industry gathering began, everyone spoke freely and joyfully, and the council meeting ended with prospects for the future.
